@isa2001m @HisMightyNibbs this is part of the reason why I left NL but i would argue it’s hard to deny The Netherlands’ cultural and intellectual output over the last few centuries

Idk if it’s because the Dutch are so poorly educated in history and specifically also literary history or if it’s because Dutch people are naturally anti-authoritarian (calvinist) and therefore unable to feel reverence for real intelligence, but Dutch people are very delusional and think they’re mediocre observations are extremely intelligent and our entire intellectual landscape is dictated by this. I know most people might think it’s like this in their country but it’s not. It’s hard to explain if you haven’t spent enough time around enough Dutch people

The Netherlands is a social experiment to see how high a national average IQ can be while still retaining a completely dilettante culture

@Yaklan40 @Feyefed Dat is wel echt een Nederlands dingetje. We klagen onwijs veel, landelijk gezien. We zijn ook een van de rijkste EN gelukkigste landen, maar we uiten dat lastig en het "doe maar normaal dan doe je al gek genoeg" gehalte is erg hoog. Dus ja, echt een NL-ding.

Over smaak valt niet te twisten, maar als je dit goed vindt dan hoor je toch thuis in een inrichting? Naar een festival gaan om een randdebiel te zien.
