After several delays, @DOGE has finally posted its purported savings. Why did it take so long to create a simple webpage with a 1000-row table? Who knows! Let's dig in. Headline number: $55B saved. They list the savings per nixed contract. This should be easy to verify then. 🧵

It's Monday. @DOGE is the laziest, most overpaid bunch of incompetent, unelected bureaucrats we've ever seen.

@svpino @gree303 I'll have to try this Find Co-pilot mostly a distraction so switched to first Cody then Codeine. For the moment still find generating code on either chat GPT or Claude then checking it myself much more efficient. Possibly a tutorial if you find a solution that suits you?

I stopped using Cursor to write code. I barely use ChatGPT anymore. Claude is great, but I mostly use it to ask specific questions. None of these tools 10x my productivity when writing code. These tools are a form of "active AI": you ask, and they answer. 1/3

@DrewBat Also worth looking at his overall bio. He'd done some impressive things before he apparently went off the rails after his mother passed away.

People are ragging on the self-immolation guy again. I guess the disgusting narcissistic bottom feeders here on X need content and the world isn't in quite enough war. Well then let's do him some justice at least. He was Max Azzarello. He was a self-proclaimed investigative researcher. He set himself on fire because he believed he had uncovered a gigantic Ponzi scheme that reaches the highest levels of the world order. Linked below is his manifesto, and the video he recorded on his way to his self-immolation protest. I am not taking a side. But remember, that when someone cares enough about something, and about the rest of the world, that they would die to try and warn you about it in one of the most horrific ways imaginable, it may be worth looking at it, or reading his manifesto, so that his death is not some MSN talking point in your head. And don't just believe his story BECAUSE he killed himself. Observe what kind of narratives would drive a man to take his own life, look at the connections in his life, who he was surrounded by, and make your own conclusions. theponzipapers.substack.com/p/i-have-set-m…

Every second, a new job is posted on Upwork. There's no better time to make a lot of money freelancing online. I made $600,000 on Upwork, becoming a Top-Rated plus freelancer with a 100% job success rate. Here are the top in-demand skills in 2024 (the ones paying the most): • Machine learning • Automation • Data analytics • Mobile application development • Virtual reality • Video production • Search Engine Optimization • Product management I created a course to teach you how you can make a killing on Upwork. I started at $8/hour; my last contract was $200/hour. In this course, I'll teach you the most fundamental skill: How to get hired on Upwork. For the next 24 hours, my course is $20. $20 to learn how to crack one of the most profitable online marketplaces for freelancers. And I'll go one step further: If you take my course and don't find it valuable, let me know, and I'll refund you. No questions asked. What will happen to ChatGPT if StackOverflow dies? It's no secret that OpenAI trained their model using many data sources, including public questions and answers from StackOverflow. But as soon as ChatGPT went live, traffic to StackOverflow disappeared. They laid off a significant portion of their team, and honestly, I don't know how they can survive this. StackOverflow is a dinosaur, and there's a huge comet coming their way. Many people get mad at me for saying StackOverflow is dying. They argue that AI needs StackOverflow's data, and you can't have good code-oriented models without StackOverflow. That's bullshit. Large Language Models need data, but StackOverflow is hardly the only place with high-quality data. StackOverflow's advantage is that it concentrates the information in a single place, in a question-answer format. This is fundamental for people but not necessarily required for a model. An LLM can synthesize scattered information and present it cohesively to a person. It can combine a blog, a GitHub repository, and a YouTube video and give you an answer in seconds. What would you say if you had to bet between AI getting much better or people returning to StackOverflow? StackOverflow solved our problem one day. But times have changed, and there's a new, much better solution out there. A solution with the potential to become exponentially better. I don't see people coming back. (It turns out we don't generally like places where others make us feel stupid for asking the wrong question.) And remember, StackOverflow doesn't own that data; we do. They can do nothing to prevent models from using that data. For years, they have benefited by using our content. They can't complain because someone else is now doing the same. We'll see what happens, but my money is on the models.
