@TafferKing451 @PATALOON Did you consider/try a visual scripting approach to Gloomwood’s behavior trees, or were they always built in code? (I’m slightly regretting going the visual route on a project because the generated assets are hard to review/diff/refactor/etc)

@PATALOON Sure. What are you getting stuck on? Gloomwood uses behaviour trees for all its AI. The biggest hurdle is trying to get out of the "FSM" mindset and handling each task as concurrently running. Added - the monsterous tree nodes for the AIDoorTask tree.

I say this and get immediately contradicted by AI scripting lol. Could someone help me a little with that? I'm not trying to accomplish much but the Behavior Tree remains very cryptic to me. All tutorials just circling around an "enemy AI" rushing at you and attacking. 😅

Going through every piece of development on a solo game, you discover that everything is really accessible nowadays. Every time I dread the discovery of a new chunk of work, it eventually always goes super smoothly, still gotta thanks to Unreal forums and @matt_aspland.

@JibbSmart We built this for The Last Clockwinder! The whole game can be recorded and replayed frame by frame and we fix all of our bugs this way. Nice benefit is you also don't need to put the headset on.

Any gamedevs with a workflow where you can record inputs and frame times and replay them, with the ability to pause and advance frame by frame (with the recorded time deltas)? Would be really handy for debugging game logic, and life-saving for bugs with low repro rates
