@DaveMilbo Must feel strange to learn that Jewish people were called Palestinian before the change of name to the ancestral one. Puts a smile on the dial every time you hear them shouting support not knowing who they are actually supporting. Bangaranga!
Melbourne/Naarm yet again showed up in numbers for Palestine this Nakba Day, in defiance of so much grotesque complicity from our government. From the river to the sea.
@AidanSimardone 50% of the top 4 are not European countries. Is there a lack of talent or smarts or does bashing Israel not lead to improvement in performance?
@superTV247 If the Israel wasn’t so busy controlling the world they could put time and effort into winning. Eurovision instead of finishing second each year whilst under a complete voting judges handicap. ;)
That simply cannot be the way #Eurovision plays out every year. It can’t carry on like this and I hope the broadcasters and artists speak up even more. If there’s as much fall out now as there was after last years final, the EBU should have no choice but to do something about it.
@BarbaraPocock How lifesaving will the half pack in condoms be? Maybe the NYT will say they are for use in the dog rape cases? Maybe it will be the IDF dolphins that attack the ships. We wait and see.
I'm hearing that 12 Australians attempting to deliver lifesaving aid to Gaza may be attacked by the Israeli military in next 48 hours. The Aust Govt should be standing with them & human rights, not Israel. Delivering aid is not a crime. Blocking aid is. Email your local MP now.
@timmick24@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus You are missing the point. If Jews have lived there for 3000 years so have Palestinians so why are they being removed by current day Israelis. They are removed from houses that their families have lived in for generations to make way for settlers.
I'm waiting to see what happens when @PaulineHansonOz and @OneNationAus discover that at Mount Scopus school in Burwood the Hatikvah - the national anthem of Israel - is sung at school assemblies?
I know I was forced to sing God Save The Queen at primary school - the national anthem of the UK - but at the time it was also Australia’s national anthem!
@weliveinhell_@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus The Jewish people have the same dna as each other. This is a race. Jewish and non Jewish people alike live in Israel together. More than 20% of citizens are not Jewish. Hence you are correct. People of different faiths and backgrounds can, should and do live there
@HelenCo81968926@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus I’m not 3000 years old and I have not removed anyone. If you’re referring to Israel, the Jewish people have lived there as a nation for that long. What I see from historic events is that it was Jewish people removed from Gaza in 2005 leaving only Palestinians. Was this moral?
@timmick24@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus If you have lived there for 3000 years why do you need to remove Palestinians from Gaza and West Bank? They have legit land titles, oh it’s so your rellies can move in who don’t live there. Isn’t that right?
@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus Why should they or any party be critical of a homeland for the Jewish people where Jewish people have lived for over 3000 years? Being critical of that would be denying the identity of a race of people. Should China not be for the Chinese?
@timmick24@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus As we both well know, the outcry would be deafening if that happened. And, significantly, it doesn't.
Anyway, this is about PHON and how they square their newly discovered patriotism and being 'Australia First' with their uncritical Zionism. Let's see.
@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus If it’s sung as a replacement to Advance Australia Fair that would be no good but as a part of cultural identity afterwards, no issues. Chinese people can sing the Chinese anthem if they so wish but not as a replacement to local anthem.
You are avoiding my point.
It's the national anthem of a foreign state.
It's not just a song about heritage and religion. Many national anthems have similar lyrical content. But I'm not aware that the national anthems of Lebanon, Russia or the US, for example, are sung in any Australian schools.
Imagine the outcry if a Chinese school in Sydney sang the March of the Volunteers.
@SandraEckersley@A_ScottBryant It represents those who want to be represented by it. It’s the heart of the religion, where all biblical Jewish history took place. Should the Vatican not represent a large amount of Catholics for example?
@IRanalyst@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus Schools sing all sorts of songs to do with the heritage and religion of the students they cater for. Jewish schools shouldn’t be excluded from singing songs to do with thousands of years of Jewish heritage. The hatikvah is a song of the hope to have a jewish homeland.
@timmick24@PaulineHansonOz@OneNationAus The order in which they are sung is irrelevant.
Serious question. Are there any other schools in Australia which sing the national anthem of a foreign country at their assemblies?
Hey Albo! Can you explain why the Jewish community gets $604m and the Muslim community $24m?
Or:
$5209 per Jewish Australian.
$29 per Muslim Australian.
I'm sure there's a really good reason, so what is it?
@stkildafc Sydney should withdraw from the upcoming indigenous round. It would not be right to participate given that they don’t believe Aboriginal testimony.
An important message from CEO Carl Dilena on Sydney’s decision to pivot Pride Game to an alternative fixture and his message to the community on our club’s commitment to respect and inclusion in the game.

@JacintaAllanMP Trump’s war? You mean the Iranian IRGC war. The nuclear nutcases being disarmed so they can’t continue terrorist attacks in your state. You don’t support this?
The Reserve Bank’s decision to hike interest rates will hurt Australian families.
It’s why governments’ have to do everything in their power to help ease cost of living right now.
