@rayofoghlu Cool,Lahinch or Lehinch? I've seen signs for both.

@ciaranmullooly @vonderleyen @EPP Has the EU not provisionally implemented CETA, the Canadian trade deal?
English

There’s an unfortunate inbuilt ACCEPTANCE in this response : It appears to mark it as read or definite that a move will be made by @vonderleyen and supported by the @epp to go ahead with an attempt to once again bully MEPs with a provisional implementation of the trade deal - despite the democratic votes of @EuropeanParl - I believe that won’t happen - based on the strong support against that now in the centre and left and right of parliament . I’m writing to MEPs to confirm this today - Can you confirm you will co-sign my letter - @MariaWalshEU requesting the commission NOT to proceed with provisional implementation pls? If democracy means anything in Europe @vonderleyen will wait and respect the parliament as indeed the Commission did previously with the CETA trade deal

What’s not being said here; 1. Safeguard amendments were already tabled. If more get tabled + adopted that equals MORE trilogues! 2. Causing any further delays could mean Safeguards may not be applied if the Provisional Trade Agreement be trigged. 3. Full picture matters.

@timolearyifa1 Check cows at 10.30/11….in yard 6/6.30 don’t get up unless I feel there’s a need ,cows manage fine .can check camera and zoom in if needs be from bed …think I has to go to yard twice last spring in middle of night
English

@JerryMoloney1 I like at least 6 hours uninterrupted sleep every night which supports my ability to perform optimally during the day.
English

@timolearyifa1 👍not fan of restricting cows close to calving …very little calve at night ,camera handy to have a look middle of night rather than trip to yard just to check
English

@rayofoghlu That's a voluntary scheme that some farmers sign up to. What you're proposing would be compulsory for all farmers, big difference!
English

@timolearyifa1 We've a scheme to feed "thin ewes" Tim.
Where there is a will, there's a way.
English

@TIITraffic It is virtually impossible to keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you on the motorway. Drivers continually overtake and slip into the space that you are trying to keep.

@timolearyifa1 @rayofoghlu As you know, DAFM already has the ability to measure landscape features at field/land parcel scale.
Also, the appeals process wouldn't really need to be changed much compared to the existing ACRES regime.
Your example is not even representative of current practice IMO
English

@rayofoghlu That's a subjective judgement Ray. It would be very difficult to implement. You're learning just how difficult this whole area is to regulate
English

@timolearyifa1 Farmer isn't disqualified if they didn't reduce habitat area/quality.
English

@rayofoghlu The question was what would you write into your proposal to address the example I gave you. Deflection is another classic response. I'm not confused, just waiting for you to reply to the question.
English

@rayofoghlu Ah Ray, classic response, turn the focus away from yourself when you can't answer the question. So,I'll ask you again, if it's so easily written in write it.
English

@timolearyifa1 Chaos is the status quo.
As an insider, perhaps you have some well thought out ideas to restore order?

English

@rayofoghlu Let's see how you would deal with it and all the other nuances that would arise. In reality what you are proposing is an individual threshold for every applicant and an appeals system that would lead to chaos!
English

@rayofoghlu . The problem with simplistic proposals like this is that real life is complicated, not simple. Example; the threshold for the eco payment is 6%. If I was at 20% last year but only 15% this year because I had extra land would I not qualify even though I am still above the limit?
English

@timolearyifa1 I'm proposing it, Tim.
I'd imagine you wholeheartedly agree?
English

Constructive chat earlier with Tadgh from @spirofeed about a feed bin for here. Would a 6t bin do for 60 cows? Or would 8t be safer?

English

@rayofoghlu Oak before Ash is a splash, Ash before Oak is a soak.
English

@rayofoghlu It's a long time since land in Ireland was bought based on its productive capacity. Too little supply coupled with Irish peoples fascination with owning land is what drives price. More recently inheritance tax rules have also contributed.
English

It doesn't matter what "quality" land it is.
Land prices like these are entirely decoupled from the economics of food production. limerickleader.ie/video/farming/…
