My working theory: Variational seems to reward some mix of position-time, sustained open interest and quality of activity, not just raw clicks and raw Volume. Keep the Volume/weighted average OI working range somewhere around 120-150x. Hold open positions for a min of 2 hours. That would also explain something else I found: weeks with better funding outcomes often overlapped with better point efficiency, not because funding itself magically prints points, but because those weeks usually meant I was actually carrying exposure instead of machine-gunning fills. The more I overtraded, the worse my points per $1m got. The more concentrated and patient I was, the better that metric looked. So my playbook now is simple: ▪️core pairs only ▪️fewer names per week ▪️less flip spam ▪️more time in-position ▪️better Volume discipline relative to average open interest I don't know the official formula of @variational_io.
