This week our Board met to hear about plans from our new Editorial team members about their outreach activities. Time zones were tough: 4am-midnight. Special thanks to @mcnayar11 @tinaduijn & Riley Huntley for joining in the night with a smile & great ideas! #FirstAid #OpenAcces

@bobrownicki @ShakeyWaits I love these discussions. How could we accurately investigate the effect of analogy instruction on learning, while using analogies in their 'intended' way (i.e., as an only, sufficient instruction) and comparing them to sufficient explicit information?

@ShakeyWaits If the authors are going to compare 1 analogy about what to do during a putt to 8 instructions describing what to do before, during, and after the putt, I can think of a few other possible explanations for their results… I’d interpret their findings very cautiously indeed.

It’s a tough time for me and the fam. Tomorrow is my last day ‘in’ at UTS. The next weeks will be used to finalise projects. From 01/06 I’ll be at the University Medical Centre Groningen. I will keep an honorary appointment at UTS. Thanks to all who supported me down under.

And to top it all off. The icing on the cake… I got promoted to Professor. Huge amount of Imposter syndrome, and a strange sense of guilt when everything in the world seems so shit. But underneath it all absolutely chuffed! Have a great break everyone! See you in 2022!

We got funding from @UofE_Research to create ‘Exeter Immersive’ - a research network bringing together those interested in immersive technology. Inspired by @UniLeedsImmerse. We will be running some network events in 2022 so look out for those and get involved.
