Today I discovered there are Darshinis in Mumbai that boil coffee grounds instead of decoction like usual regular Tamilian households.

Yes Prem. How else will we contribute to the consumerist hellscale we live in right.
Prem Soni@ValueWithPrem

Your parents are suffering from untreated financial trauma. Indian parents will sit on ₹5 crores of real estate and fixed deposits yet still walk in 40°C heat and fight a street vendor to save ₹15 on tomatoes. They proudly call this middle class values. It is not. It is a poverty mindset they are absolutely terrified to outgrow. They built a life optimizing for survival because of the circumstances at that time and now expect you to inherit that as a badge of honor. When they see you paying delivery charges or booking Urban Company, they don't get angry because you are wasting just money. They get angry because your convenience makes their decades of unnecessary suffering look completely pointless. They forgot one brutal reality: they are not the permanent owners of their wealth. They are simply temporary custodians of it. They spent their turn hoarding money out of a deeply ingrained fear of going broke. But that era is over. Now the time to use that money is yours. And that’s exactly how this works. You are not disrespecting their legacy by valuing an hour of your time over ₹15 bus travel. You are actually fulfilling the purpose of the wealth they built. They have won in life. You cannot inherit generational wealth if you are forced to inherit the trauma of poverty along with it. Stop romanticizing their struggle, step into your role and unapologetically play your turn.

@bankaffairs Please also understand: India is a country of slackers. They work for 3-4 hours while taking the same amount of breaks. There’s no second order thinking. Most people want everything to be spoon fed to them. We do well as back office because we can follow process. That’s it!

Indian girl in New Zealand says: 'Here, people work 9 to 5, get thanked for normal work, and boss tells you - go home on time. No pressure to sit late. In India? Late sitting = 'hard work'. Leaving on time = 'not serious'. Bankers fighting for 5-day week over a decade but still stuck in this toxic culture. Asking Regulated working hours is like commiting a Sin in India ... True hard work is doing good job in office hours - not showing off by sitting late. Wake up India! Need regulated hours + fair pay. @DFS_India @nsitharaman Regulated working hours and 5 day work week is not a luxury but a necessary one for #worklifebalance

@LinkedInLunat1c My mind is changing about this. Used to be on the side of the poster but increasingly I realize that the younger generation is, as always, rationally responding to the incentives and the system.

I met a founder on X. Now we're business partners. We're manufacturing pocket fans for them. And this is the 5th product we are Indianising from X. We reverse-engineered the moulds and PCB in-house (only a few components are imported). Our goal is simple: reduce dependency on imports and build as much as possible in India. The pilot run started at just 50 units/day. We always start small to validate quality, performance, and uncover problems early - before scaling production. We'll gradually ramp up to 1,000 units/day. In manufacturing, your first shipment decides whether a customer comes back for the next 100,000 units. That's how manufacturing grows. If you're looking for a trusted B2B OEM manufacturing partner for consumer products in India, let's get in touch. Link in the comments.

Y’all also need to shoot anyone telling you that you can simply wash off a parasite embedded into the skin and even the folds and creases of alot of this produce. A parasite that is resistant to bleach, chlorine, and vinegar by the way. Signed, An epidemiologist
NBC 7 San Diego@nbcsandiego

A San Diego infectious disease doctor says it’s probably best to stay away from fresh produce for the next week or so, even if you wash it. A fecal parasite illness, known as cyclosporiasis, has now reached California. NBC 7’s Shandel Menezes has details. on.nbc7.com/fJ8api2

I genuinely think Sonam Wangchuk is stupid. Who in their right mind builds schools in the Himalayas, invents artificial glaciers so farmers don’t die of thirst, wins international awards, inspires a movie that made crores, and then spends their life going on hunger strikes for a country that detains them under terrorism laws for 170 days as a thank you. Genuinely stupid behavior. Meanwhile our judicial system is busy giving bail to people who probably shouldn’t have it, detaining people who definitely shouldn’t be detained, and a High Court judge recently said something about removing clothes forcefully and having fun with a wife that I genuinely cannot repeat without my brain short circuiting. This is the country where Sonam Wangchuk is the problem. Where students get their exam papers leaked and nobody resigns. Where a 57 year old man starving himself for 17 days is less newsworthy than a Bollywood actor’s airport look. This country, Indian judiciary and government is seriously broken. And right now something is very, very broken. Happy 15th August in advance. The flags are already being ironed.

9 men chased a family for 15 kms, threw stuff and broke their windows, causing them injuries - just because a female member didn’t let herself get sexually harassed by them. This is what resisting sexual harassment and rape leads to in this country.

@iamdatemike I actually went and read their policy. Unless you can prove that this happened after their website access - it’s a tough one. BUT, their privacy policy is a hornet’s nest. I’d be firing my legal team if they wrote to shit up without any deniability for third party access.

@sillylilghosty @iamdatemike No they don’t need. As a general policy/legally, if third parties use your site’s data through services, as a service provider your liability is limited. The same immunity is applicable to the Payment Gateway. Their loophole will be “usage for analysis/fraud detection”.

@Iamsamirarora Something like what computerisation did decades ago to Banking. Banks did VRS and reduced employees and costs. IT companies had higher revenues due to implementation and support.

It is very interesting to see that IT companies are saying that AI will help them get more business and higher revenues ( which means higher costs for the clients) and client companies, like banks etc, are saying that AI will help them reduce costs and have fewer employees.
