@peteriwanoff it's essentially the belief that it's empowering because YOU chose it, but there are issues with post feminism... because it shifts responsibility on women to kind of "fix" structural inequality issues... i'm better at explaining this in person 😭 hope this makes sense

@peteriwanoff absolutely!! not a lot of people have heard of post feminism!! it's kind of the belief that feminism has already done its job... the structural inequalities have diminished... it's now about individualism and choice for women... we see it in advertising, the whole "girl boss"

it's also the sex toy industry... while, hugely beneficial in allowing women explore their bodies, the "close the orgasm gap" shifts responsibility on women to purchase solutions to the orgasm gap themselves, rather than addressing the cultural conditions that produce it.

it's what rosalind gill said would happen, instead of individuals addressing the structural issues of porn, the responsibility is passed onto women... not questions on why women feel the way they do with porn.

@JamessTheDrinke i'd say that their talking points are 100% post feminist... it's not really a movement, more like a mindset if that makes sense... the whole choice and empowerment thing, without actually addressing any structural inequalities.

@tinycharlll i also think specifically it belies this idea that sex is derivative of porn or at least interdependence of each other. rather than sex being wholly its own thing. without need of preconceived assumptions of meaning and self-observation that accompanies porn.

you cannot and shouldn't claim that porn is this kind of overarching determinant of whether people are having good sex... by doing this you are merely solidifying a sexual script for young women to navigate where they are told you must do what porn shows, otherwise you're a prude

To those saying that the new immigrants don't work in parliament...firstly, many now are influential in our politics. But importantly - how do you think the culture of a country changes? Who do you think politicians represent - who are they trying to court? If the culture of a country becomes less tolerant to LGBT, then politicians will react accordingly.
That said - it's clear that the absolute insane gender woowoo is also responsible for this fall, and the UK has done well to push back! Thank you sensible Brits and, erm, intolerant immigrants?
