It is incredibly ironic that @realDonaldTrump would write that his pick to lead the CDC will “restore the GOLD STANDARD SCIENCE at the CDC, which was an absolute disaster focused on ‘mandates’ under Sleepy Joe,” when his pick is the QUEEN of mandating vaccines. She has, with threat and force, mandated almost every major vaccine on civilians and military members, including mandating injection of smallpox, anthrax, and flu vaccines into U.S. Forces, and disciplining those who refused. The only thing she is likely to restore is the CDC to business as usual – cheerleading for industry instead of being a regulator over industry. For sources, and more about her, see x.com/AaronSiriSG/st…

France and the UK are convening a high-level international summit on April 17 to push for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil artery that has been effectively shut since late February amid the Iran war. The meeting in Paris, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, brings together representatives from roughly 40 countries. Washington will not be part of the initiative, which is formally known as the Strait of Hormuz Maritime Freedom of Navigation Initiative. Starmer is expected to say that “the unconditional and immediate reopening of the Strait” is a “global responsibility” and that “we need to act to get global energy and trade flowing freely again.” French officials have said any mission would remain limited in scope and “strictly defensive,” involving non-belligerent countries and implemented “when security conditions allow.” A follow-up summit is scheduled for next week at the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters in Northwood.

This is like that time when Trump angrily told reporters in the Oval Office that Israel is not allowed to annex the West Bank! So the Knesset waited 2 days until JD Vance arrived in Israel, and purposely passed a resolution in support of Isareli annexation of the West Bank.👇

@SarahAHoyt I worry because he appointed Pegoraro for presidency of Pontifical Academy for Life, and that bozo couldn't even condemn Italy passing laws to kill Grandmom. And now he is supporting the Democrats to continue their push to spread these laws.

That's cute. Us cradle Catholics make a sport of criticizing the current pope. There are more than one way of praying for the Holy Father's intentions, is all I'll say. No. Leo isn't the anywhere close to the worst we had. He's probably not even a bad one. But the church only survived over the millennia because people can tell the man in the throne of Peter isn't the church. And unless he's speaking ex-cathedra, we deserve the right to treat him as another of our brothers in this fallen world. And, FYI Trump is not a Catholic. So he quite probably could care less if he is technically allowed to criticize the pope or not. This is fatuous.
Terrence K. Williams@w_terrence

Cardinal Müller’s message to the entire world: No one has the right to criticize the Pope. This comes after Trump criticized the Pope. “It must be clearly stated that no one has the right to criticize the Pope when he faithfully follows the mission he received from Christ to bear witness to the Gospel of peace.” He is against people criticizing the Pope and believes people shouldn’t question him.

@FrDesposito amen. Leo appoints Pegoraro to the pontifical Academy of life and he can't even condemn assisted suicide. And of course the Democrats he is coordinating with will expand abortion and euthanasia and probably demand Catholic institutions to go along with it.

In this age of profound crisis and compromise, we are called to heroic faith. Look to today's saint, Pope St. Anicetus. He didn't dialogue with the world; he condemned the Gnostic heresies, defended the Apostolic Tradition, and paid for his orthodoxy with his blood. 🧵👇

He’s not even had two marriages. He was divorced from his first wife and now has had a child with his current fiancé out of wedlock. This is the guy we need lecturing Rome on morality. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Jon Miller@MillerStream

hannity says he left catholicism bc priests aren’t allowed to marry… bro loves marriage so much he’s had two. but since he doesn’t understand clerical celibacy, he is probably in no position to lecture the Vicar of Christ on christian morality

44 years ago today, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was signed into law. It laid the foundation for a stronger, more just Canada. It is up to us all to protect the values of freedom and equality enshrined in the Charter — to keep building a better Canada, for all.

@CatholicSOTC I doubt this. Mother Teresa saw the massacres of partition and the suffering of the poor and the mass abortion industry of the west. But these were not as evil as receiving communion in the hand, which can be done reverently, is the real problem?

The only reason Trump was able to lead a movement full of "social conservatives" and self-identified devout Christians -- despite his limitlessly libertine and gluttonous public life of serial adultery, overlapping marriages, hush money to a porn star with whom he had an affair while his wife was taking care of their newborn baby, very close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, etc. -- is because he never postured as a paragon of sexual virtue. But this is now the second time Trump tried to malign Joe Kent for remarrying "quickly" after losing his wife in war (Kent re-married 4 years later) -- implying something untoward in Kent's personal life -- and when Trump of all people does that, it exposes the laughable fraud of this movement of his followers posturing as though they are morally superior to anyone.
CALL TO ACTIVISM@CalltoActivism

🚨WTF: Trump on Joe Kent: "I'm not a fan of the guy… His wife was killed. He remarried fairly quickly." Trump cheated on his 1st wife with his 2nd wife, cheated on his 2nd wife with his 3rd wife, and when pregnant, cheated with a porn star. Get real.

“Imagine it was someone other than President Donald Trump. Suppose a different leader were posting deranged rants in the small hours, insulting the spiritual leader of 1.3 billion Catholics, threatening entire civilizations with annihilation, and comparing himself to God. What would be the reaction? We all know the answer. Both parties would be rushing to bundle him out of office before he did irreversible harm to the republic. Yet, as we all also know, different rules apply to Trump.” washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/453335…

✝️ President Trump just Said ''The Pope said Iran SHOULD have a nuclear weapon' This is a big fat outrageous lie!! The Pope said no such thing and those who still think this is ok really need to repent. Lying is a dirty thing and sinful and lying about a serious thing like this is Astounding and beneath the dignity of his office.

Absolutely correct. And this makes great sense. American conservative Catholics are maybe 1% of the Church. If they think THEY should be calling the shots for global Christendom instead of the literal Vicar of Christ, they should be taken down a notch, frankly. Pick a lane!
Nick Freiling@NickFreiling

There will not again be a Pope that modern American conservatives like. It won't happen. American conservatives have developed a general disdain for the rest of the world – for all things not American. Their foreign policy is driven mainly by aesthetic preference, seeing the world as a consumer good (thus the rage about high rates of immigration into Europe). And of course, their party's presidents are seemingly addicted to waging war on Muslims. The Church's mission runs exactly counter to this. Conservatives will say they long for a Pope like John Paul II, but the truth is that they would have rejected even him. It is they who have changed – not the Church, and not the truth. Here's John Paul II 👇 "War is a defeat for humanity. War should belong to the tragic past, to history: it should find no place on humanity's agenda for the future." "It is my ardent hope that Muslim and Christian religious leaders and teachers will present our two great religious communities as communities in respectful dialogue, never more as communities in conflict." "In the West ... liberal capitalism ... has proposed and still promotes, on the economic level, antithetical forms of the organization of labor and of the structures of ownership, especially with regard to the so-called means of production."

@21WIRE @POTUS @marklevinshow @seanhannity @realDonaldTrump we are watching all the Catholic press bow and pretend the Pope is right, while covering up his coordination with Axerod and sixty minutes. But if a guy who left the church because of the horrific sexual abuse of children could only object because Trump ordered him?

I know there are a lot of Catholics out there worried about Sec. Pete Hegseth’s anti-Catholic pastor. But I’m gonna tell you right now not to worry about it. There are over a quarter of a million Catholic serving in the United States military. That’s 20% of our entire Armed Forces. There is no way in hell, the secretary of war is going to do anything against a fifth of America’s entire military force. And there is no way in hell, the secretary of war is going to use the military in anyway against Catholics in the United States. That’s just hysteria. Hegseth’s pastor represents only a tiny minority of Evangelical Protestantism. And while we are going through this time of heightened anti-Catholic rhetoric on the Internet, thanks to Trump‘s careless comments about the pope, these people no longer have the support of the American public. They haven’t had that kind of support since the early 20th century. Their glory days are over.
