This is the first piece of didart / domainart I created (Dec 2021). Not fully realising the power of connection between DIDs and art. Fast forward to now, and their power is becoming more fully realised, thanks in part to the emergence of AI art. #didart #domainart #ai #art

@domainname Domain names as art titles could easily become a thing. Each artwork could have its own one of a kind, fully verifiable, digital identifier.

I attended Art Basel in Hong Kong. Globally, the number of people interested in art is perhaps 1000 times greater than those interested in domain names. If just one percent of art investors entered the domain name market, domain names would take off. What do you see as the differences between art investment and domain name investment? By the way, two very good art-themed domain names are currently for sale on DN.com; cooperation is welcome. Art.ai , ArtRWA.com Yishu.com ( The pinyin domain name of art)

@tadtweets @jbondwagon This is why I champion Web3 domains as art titles. They create a permanent bond between words and image.

👀 @jbondwagon makes an important point: there are countless images of the Mona Lisa; but there is only one original. Being able to prove ownership and originality is critical and even more valuable in a world where AI makes art ubiquitous. Tech will amplify brands and IP. 🔥👇

@DarrylMason So did I using a ZX81 and a roll of silver foil. I called them 'Cityscapes'. And if ever I hunt them down I'll post them up here.

1989: 'Many people are very threatened that I'm making art on the computer' When people over 50 say 'We've been through all this before' on computers generating art, they mean it. I first prompted a piece of 'art' by typing code in 1983.
NB@Noahbolanowski

Keith Haring in 1989: "[Digital Art is] going to politically & ideologically revolutionize the concept of what is a visual work of art & what the value of a work of art is… Many people are very threatened that I'm making art… on the computer." From MacWEEK, Sept. 1989.

While some are skeptical of AI art, former MoMA Director Glenn Lowry says it might be misunderstood. He compares it to the invention of photography 200 years ago. cbsn.ws/4tR1eQ6

@tipstapunk Makes sense-custom domains evolving, but linking art still opens doors. Early days yet, plenty of room for creators to experiment and show off their work. @tipstapunk follow back appreciated fr

Although UD has dropped custom domain images, creators can still link their digital art to certain domains, and maybe show them off on their website / X account. We are really only just beginning.

As a speed handicapper in a previous life, this post rings true, as I saw many who were data literate fail to make the racing game pay. They wanted every box ticked before placing a bet, at which point all the value in the odds was gone. They didnt realise that instinct was 50 percent of the game and unquantifiable. You either had the knack of marrying the data with instinct or you didnt. I'd go as far to say that most successful players are born with this gift.

I don’t know how else to put it. It is not easy for the average participant to make decent income, leave alone make a living in this industry Now registrars, and other stakeholders holders will want you to succeed, which is a great thing in way. Your success is their success But only if wishes were horses I have seen this even among those who have been in the industry for decades It is hard to get this business if you don’t get it in 1 year I know a lot of successful people and one thing common between them is that they all got it in a short time But for the vast majority, it is just a matter of shooting in the dark, get Lucky in a trend and then back to square one No amount of podcast or course will help you There just are too many dots to connect, too many subjective criteria that need an innate instinct If you think you can strictly rely on data, remember that the data is with everyone else including the experts This is just a thought As in every business, you should figure out your strengths and work on those And be impatient You don’t have all your life to figure it out One thing is for sure This is no get rich quick scheme

@domainsea @ntropiq UD should already have a clear way forward post ICANN, and we need to hear what it is, what they (we) are fighting for.

One key piece is still DNS pricing This matters a lot because some whales here hold thousands of domains, and DNS fees at scale change decisions quickly. Many holders reached out to me and relied on me to raise these questions publicly and get clarity for everyone. @ntropiq, any guidance you can share on DNS pricing would really help the community align ahead of ICANN 2026.
ai.agent@domainsea

As we get closer to ICANN 2026, it might be healthy to have a Whale Talk / X Space to clarify a few things and align expectations. Those in favor, please comment. If there’s interest, we can decide together who hosts the X Talk / Space, and it would be great to have @sandy_carter, join the discussion as well. 🌐 Open conversation now can help us start 2026 with a strong and positive mentality. 🌐 Please repost or tag so this post also reaches the right people. #whale #talk #Domains #DNS #Web3 #DigitalIdentity @enstroll @JohanPoyhonen @thebenchmark @AIdotCrypto @Collector7NFT @taxninja @zaidashi3 @DomainDegen @KryptoRecht @

🚨We are migrating our legacy L1 crypto resolution system off of Ethereum by the end of this year. Earlier this year we discontinued bridging from L2 → L1, and this is the next step in our process of migrating our Ethereum registries to Polygon. The migration from L1 to L2 will be completed sometime in the next month. Records will be copied over from L1 to L2, and then bridging will be disabled. If you are a legacy Unstoppable Domains holder with NFT domains currently minted on Ethereum L1 you don’t need to do anything, the migration will be completed for you and your records will continue resolving as expected.

A whole community whittled to just a few whispers on the wind these days. 😢😭 I'll be honest. Hardly any reason to stay on X, all UDfam mostly silent, left, or lurk. And by UDfam I mean the OG UDfam.

The majority of domain investors are pigeon, shit farmers. Here's why. Domain investing is a strategic board game. The whole object is to find the most powerful corners in the universe. But these corners aren’t made of land or concrete. They’re made of words. Your job is to predict which corners in the universe deserve a skyscraper, a gas station, or a billion dollar brand. Except instead of land you’re claiming language. The winners are the ones who pick the corners that have meaning, traffic, purpose, and a built in flow of people. The losers are the ones buying imaginary corners in swamps and deserts that nobody has ever visited and nobody ever will. You can’t build a gas station in a swamp with no road, no oxygen, and no people. It will die. Same thing with domains. If nobody wants to go there, if nobody naturally arrives there, if the words themselves don’t attract or guide people, you’re holding worthless land. You’re holding a dead corner. That’s why most domain investors I see are sitting on pigeon shit farms. They proudly show me domains that have no oxygen, no purpose, no demand, and no chance. Corners of the universe where nothing will ever be built. Not today, not tomorrow, not in their lifetime. A valuable domain is a corner of commerce. A place somebody will need. A place people can find without directions. A place where business can live. Everything else is just dirt on the moon. And as far as valuations everyone obsesses over, here’s the truth. There is no valuation. There is only a liability called a renewal. More than ninety percent of the domains I see people spamming are absolutely, positively worthless. Not low value. Not maybe valuable someday. Worthless. They cost money to keep and will never make a dime. People are valuing sand as if it were gold.
