A student just messaged me that they used our 2D Game Engine code to implement and solve #AdventOfCode Day 3 challenge. I'm not really following AOC this year, but it looks like their code: • Parses the input file • Uses the result to create entities for all engine parts and symbols • Adds box collider components to new entities • Uses collision system to calculate collisions • Uses the puzzle solver system to use collision information to solve the puzzle So cool! 😅 It works on real input too: github.com/developer239/a…

@tsoding I think many people choose something like @obsdmd over Notion because it's bug free (at least for me) and extremely fast

"Users don't care about performance" They do. They just rarely have a choice. Give them to choose between a slow and a fast app and you will be blown away by the results. The problem is that all apps these days are a slow, buggy crap. It's you who don't care. Not them.

@BinaryImpactG I never found a really good use case for this. In #godot you would rather use Resources for data classes and structs if you don't want to put pressure on the GC. Maybe someone could point out a better use cast :D
