PROS / CONS OF NVDA DAILY BREAKOUT? The main debate on my call today w @smbcapital interns was whether this is a setup worth taking. What are your thoughts? Pros? Cons?

@InvestorsLive por enseñarme el concepto de Trade for wealth and not for income. He aprendido mucho de uds. Sigan compartiendo su conocimiento. GRACIAS!

@Peoplewish @TradingDay7 33% win rate. 1% win on equity. 0.5% loss on equity. EV = 33% * 1% - (1-33%) * 0.5% = -0.005% on equity.

How do you figure?

@Peoplewish @wheredmymoneygo This doesn't make any sense. First, you're not counting in for the losers, and second you stated 0.5% average loss and 10% average win on average (which actually means 100% return on a 10% position), very unrealistic.

@wheredmymoneygo 1 trade per day on average, with compounding. 252 trading days in a year. 35% win rate = ~93 winning trades. A 10% average win on a 10% position = ~1% account growth per winner, not 10%. So ~93 winners = ~93% gross before compounding.

100% annual account growth = • 10% position sizing • 1 trade per day on average • 33% win rate • 10% average win • 0.50% average loss • 25-day average hold on winners • 1-day hold on losers

The S&P just put together seven straight green days. Everyone's chasing the recovery. Christian Flanders -- 2nd place in the 2025 USIC (+167.5%), over +1300% in two years -- tried to buy CoreWeave three times at the April lows last year. Sized large every time. Got stopped out every time. Then it tripled without him. The bottom is easy to spot in hindsight. Getting the entry to stick while it's happening is the real trade.

Appreciate it Kyle. The idea of “recognizing the real winner early” sounds right, but in practice it’s very hard to separate signal from narrative in real time. That’s why I’ve moved away from trying to identify outliers early and instead let the system define what a winner is after the fact. It’s less satisfying, but much more consistent. Agree on sizing being the real lever here. If the size is right, you don’t feel the need to manage the trade emotionally. You just let it play out. Most of the time, trimming is not a read on the trade, but a read on your own discomfort.

Great read! Honored to be a part of inspiration here for better or worse 🤣 I have definitely overvalued the emotional profile of trimming the first piece when in reality it leads to less gains on the winners for not much more of a drawdown. I think part of the key here is knowing some of the early signs you have a true winner on your hands because many trades I would go into the trade telling myself I won’t be trimming to try and capture what this post explains only for those trades to never gain momentum. The correct position size and one size fits all approach sounds like the solution here. Thanks for the great post @ItsWalterEgo

@FelipeGuirao Fantastic post Felipe, thank you! I guess there are 2 main challenges while shorting during bear markets/corrections: 1. Not getting caught on a bounce 2. Being able to discern between a dead cat bounce and the start of a new bull mkt.

If you gave back a lot of profits from the rally last year I'd recommend slowing down, stopping and regrouping mentally. Think about what you are trying to accomplish by trading right now. The market environment is very different from before, this is not the place to "make it back". Nothing wrong with waiting for a more favorable environment to trade in. I wish I had someone to pull me aside in 2022 when things weren't going well and talk to me about everything that was happening. I was just reviewing my trades that year. I actually did a very good job of reducing risk. My average $ risk per trade was half what it was in 2021 and my Number of trades taken was 40% less. I still lost 24% of my account. I simply had no big winners to make up for the increased number of losses.

Today I traded 5 tickers and got stp'd on all of them Mistakes: too many tickers for a day on a bad market, sized them regularly, and tried 3 longs when I should've known better Plan: less activity (1-2 trades max/day) and less size (0.15% of account) Until things get better!
