For those who cannot imagine where the savings might be when/if the Vancouver Park Board is folded under city services. Here’s my draft list of savings areas and at least 50 million dollars in value or about a 5 % tax savings for Vancouverites. Roads Comms Professional non union staff Politicians Office space Parking management Building lease maintenance Legal department Rfp processing Etc.

Doug and Diane Clement are legends in the Vancouver sports world. They were instrumental in the founding of the Sun Run and in bringing the 2010 games to Vancouver. They represented our country at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, they’re both recipients of the order of Canada, and Diane was likely the first female president of an athletic organization in North America! Oh, and it was Doug’s 90th birthday! It was wonderful to have the chance to proclaim today as Doug and Diane Clement Day in the City of Vancouver. Thank you Doug and Diane for everything you’ve done for our city and country!
