Does your school 1) have an athletic trainer for athletics and 2) have enough AT’s. Having an Athletic trainer for all athletic events from practices to Games and tournaments should be in your operating budget at all levels from PeeWee up to the professional level.

@morris_atc As a ATC since 1995 I 100% agree with what was written here. I am in Ca and the way ATCs are treated and compensated is pathetic and it doesn’t remotely reflect the knowledge base we have-the NATA does not have enough political power and we will never have relevance .

Dear Youth Athletes,
Be an athlete first...
Stay away from playing one competitive sport all year...
Stay away from superteams...
Stay away from tournaments that put out too many games over too few days...
Stay away from "elite" anything...
Stay away from youth national championships...
Olympic Development programs...
And travel teams that fly across the country...
Instead do other activities outside your sport. Master your own bodyweight..
Learn to :
Sprint
Jump
Throw
Crawl
Climb
Carry
Flip
Roll
Tumble
Start early in life, do it often, have fun!
