Audience capture is the defining illness of new media. @BridgetPhetasy lost a chunk of her audience for voting for Trump in 2024. She lost another chunk for not turning on Israel in 2025. She doesn't seem to mind. But the real story is bigger than one host shedding followers. A generation of media figures on the left and the right — Jon Stewart, Tucker Carlson, and the rest — have stopped trying to lead an audience and started trying to be picked by 22-year-olds. They've decided the kids must be right because they're young, and the rest of us must be wrong because we're not. In this video with @TomSteyer, AB Hernandez says he's been doxxed because people know where he goes to high school. These are the published results of last year's state meet. It says right there on the CIF website where he goes to school. Publishing results is not doxxing.

Chicago renters should be paying attention. Brandon Johnson just announced his new ordinance that he claims will go after landlords. Making you pay for tenants move out costs if you raise rent by $200 and making them pay up to $10,000 if they want to renovate their building and have you move. Guess who’s going to pay the costs? You. Through higher rents. Through fewer available apartments. Through tougher approval standards. Brandon Johnson is selling this as tenant protection. But every time City Hall makes it harder to provide housing, it becomes harder to find housing. That’s the part they won’t tell you. We need to BUILD housing on the 50k vacant pieces of land not make it harder for landlords and renters.
