While the Mayor of Marshall & @afcaction met with 13 #ncga members we thanked each of them for supporting our $20m flood mitigation grant proposal for #Helene impacted counties. Those $20m grants received 105 apps for over $80m and will help improve public safety in the region

We've collaborated with the #WNCPartnership on priorities including state & Fed govt reform (esp FEMA) and resources to build flood #resilience into their recovery process. Marshall's Mayor is a key voice within that Partnership.

Fulfilling couple days at the #ncga last week as @afcaction joined leaders from the Town of Marshall, one of the smaller and most #Helene impacted communities. As we supported the direct needs for Marshall we related those needs to the larger western #NorthCarina priorities....

@floodcoalition brought eastern #NorthCarolina leaders out to WNC to check in on #Helene recovery and conduct site visits of recently awarded flood #resilience grants. Always a great day when local champions from across our state come together to work on such a critical issue.

Finally got the new Siddle contract back from the university. New deal raises his salary to $1 million annually and adds an extra year, through the 2030-31 season. No changes to buyout. Not long ago, the idea of a UNCW coach making $1 million would have been absurd.

No one loved serving in the #ncpol General Assembly more than Mike Clampitt. He was a kind man who did the best he could for his district and his constituents. May he rest in peace.
