@EV_Trapper Rigidity is key in little machines, they typically don't have much. If you're building it, beef it up. I have a bit of experience with little mills, if you have any questions I'm happy to answer anything I can. LFG! 🇺🇸

Here is my very first automated milling into 1018 Steel! 😍😍😍These are super zoomed in with 50MP I think, so some of the imperfections are amplified. This is not professional or honestly even really that great, but IT IS AWESOME! The machine I'm using could not do any sort of real production work for any metals outside of copper & aluminum honestly. I just wanted to do this though just to test whether it worked or not & it honestly worked pretty well. I did notice that clamping the steel block down mattered a lot more than the aluminum one. Not sure if that's just my setup or how things are in real life, but it was interesting. I just had to add to make sure it was REAL TIGHT. This is a custom machine that I built out of an existing kit out on the market, just to do testing & learn my way in the CNC world. The next one I'm going to put a slightly bigger motor on it along with ISO20 ATC quick change tooling. This was such a major win for me today because again I'm new at the entire "machining" process. The future is bright for America!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I now present my SECOND automated milled pocket ever in 6016 Aluminum & it's much better. My feed rate was probably too slow here, but OH MY GOODNESS! My path towards making our own parts is now confirmed and I would like to thank everybody who told me that I could never do it. More importantly we are going to help everybody else so that everyday people can make their own parts. Now I'm going to do this very thing in steel. This is very very addicting and I'm not even making anything! 😂😂😂😂😂

Slinging plastic and testing the speed on the VFSS. Tool changer is snappy, but the accel/deceleration ramps are lengthy. Plastic bricks can be heavier than you would think.

One of my customers just bought the machines and is launching his own shop. Parts made right here. This is reindustrialization happening — American grit in action. More shops = stronger future. 🇺🇸💪 Who’s next? #ReindustrializeAmerica #MadeInUSA Just a touch smaller than @hadrian new F3! 🤣🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We won our competitors largest account in our area due to our software. They called the customer and started ruthlessly trash talking us, even saying that we have fake photos on our website. (there was one AI image I had as a background on a specific page but I thought it was painfully obvious lol) Our competitor does $1B+ in revenue per year and has been around since the vietnam war.

My window fixture is coming to life. Fun fact: I have reason to believe the material I purchased was @noxmetals first sale. There is a good chance this fixture will be on display at the Detroit Historical Museum 50 years from now. @zanehengsperger

@photoncmndr FANUC vs Haas control, replacement parts availability. Have you looked at Doosan? I've never run a Doosan but I have been pretty impressed w the demos.

This is not a joke. My next 5 year plan is to move into the factory. There's an upper floor in our offices that has been untouched for at least 30 years, maybe more. It still has gear samples from when this was a gear shop in the 80's. It even has a factory floor window.

@photoncmndr I'm just going to rehab the upper offices and put an apartment in there. Then I can tell all my friends I live in a multi-million dollar home with furniture that can run ya $250k.
