The heart and passion of the Isiah Thomas led Pistons, Yzerman Red Wings, and Morris, Gibson, Whitaker and Trammel Tigers made me a Detroit sports fan for life.

@waronweakness Smart phones and social media both began around the same time and both deserve most of the blame for the current problems.

Nah. Pre smart phone internet was great because there was a tangible separation between the physical world and the digital world. Now that we have smart phones and social media, we can't get away from the internet and that's the problem. I love coffee but I don't need it in an IV

@Camp4 That's a good start. As for regions, there are some high quality accounts outside of the US but maybe limit the anonymous accounts that are outside of the region.

This was misguided. It doesn’t address the root cause. I have a radical idea: What if 70% of our feeds were posts from accounts we’ve explicitly chosen to follow? The other 30% is high quality posts from others. Suppress obvious rageslop. Problem solved.

There are actually living humans this delusional. But the funniest are the ones this delusional who say it with pride. It's my life's mission to make wrestling less entertaining, have fewer jobs for wrestlers, and above all, stay ignorant of the news while doing so. Like dude, we know you exist, but when you broadcast it like that, you bring shame to your family and if you ever get a girlfriend and she figures out what you said, you're toast.

@theNOBSdentist Extending healthspan is the best we can hope for. Look at how strict and meticulous we have to be with diet, exercise, and sleep to achieve "youthful" biomarkers compared to when we were younger.

This was a good read with a bad conclusion. The ultimate takeaway from the farce of biological age is the uncomfortable truth no one wants to admit: we’re all aging, irreversibly, every waking moment. It’s a cheap dopamine hit to be told “wow your left ear is that of an 11 year old”. So what? You don’t really believe you can turn the clock back, you just want to play tennis at 80, or live to see your great grandchildren. That’s what all of this comes back to from first principles. I am sorry that there’s no algorithm or formula for the messy throws of life, but I do hope you find the peace that comes with the unknown. There’s an old song that goes “Hold on loosely, but don’t let go” Age gracefully, but get out there and live rather than sit around wasting it with silly calculations. Appreciate the irony of trying to uncross the bridge, when your entire purpose on earth is to traverse it ferociously.

Humans spent centuries writing books, essays, articles, and research papers. Then we used all that human writing to train AI systems to write like humans. Then we built another AI system to inspect the writing and say, “This looks AI suspiciously.” So now we have one machine trained on humans to sound human, and another machine trained on humans to figure out whether the first machine sounds a little too human. And after all that, a stressed human still has to make the final call.

For the past few months, I've been developing an AI nutrition coaching app for my clients and my audience. Yesterday, I took psyllium husk too close to my meal and got hit with waves of digestive pain. The app essentially told me what was happening and coached me through it, helping me fix it fast. I've been using this app for a year. It's helped me get my abs back, and it's just wild what this technology can do.

@SeanRossSapp This isn't even kayfabe or trolling anymore. These guys have been watching way too much Andrew Tate. It's getting worse and I'm actually scared for people in the business. Because of what's going on people find this acceptable and actionable. To you and everyone, stay safe.

@IMJustinBrooke I think OpenClaw websites are starting to show up in my Google feed. Some lady wrote a long article about her parents 42-year marriage, in the middle it says she wasn't even sad they divorced when she was 19,then at the end it says her father is being more present in the marriage

Been using OpenClaw daily now. It’s not like other agentic builders or automation builders. You have to think a little differently when using it. Needs wiggle room. It’s like managing an overachiever. Huge energy and initiative, but needs rails. Lots of rails!

@SeanRossSapp It's crazy to me the norm on here is to insult people, then we have to debate which insults crossed the line, whether the wrestling media covered them enough, whether the apologies were good enough, and whether that outrage was performative or not. Society really has slipped.

So the wrestling media covering it Tuesday was "not covering it" or "covering it late" TMZ covering it over a full day later was "keeping it alive?" Yeah. I see what's going on here.

@Graannt @SeanRossSapp Can't let this die out. @KingRicochet apology was not sincere in the slightest. If the so called wrestling journalist won't cover the issue but will promote the apology than I'm all for TMZ keeping it alive.

@DrJesseMorse @siimland I believe being under 15% bf is the only way it's healthy to be above 25 BMI and you have to go through several bulking and cutting cycles to achieve that. The vast majority of men would be healthiest between 22.5 and 25.

The issue I have with BMI is that it doesn’t take into account muscle. I’m considered overweight (26.6), yet I’m sitting between 10-15% body fat. I think that’s where the challenging part is. I’d prefer my patients to be slightly overweight (26-28) if it means they are more muscular than underweight (15-18) because that often muscles they have less muscle to protect their joints, often yielding higher risk of fractures.

Observational studies often find that being slightly overweight (BMI 25–28) is associated with lower mortality. But when you control for reverse causation - where illness causes weight loss - and for the fact that lower-weight groups often include frail, malnourished, sedentary, or chronically ill people, that apparent benefit disappears. @BStulberg Reading Seneca has made me find internet slop even more ridiculous. The way he says you should read the master thinkers and pick one idea a day to thoroughly digest and says learning quotes is good for a child but for adults he wants to know what do you think, what do you say.

@Thecoachrules @TheCoachandBro It also doesn't help that they drove interest down by moving PLE's to ESPN Unlimited which isn't going to be included with YouTube TV until later this year and costs way more than Peacock as a standalone.

Been saying on Off the Ropes and @TheCoachandBro show that this was a no brainer. Dumbest decision they have made yet. It’s why the NFL never goes back to back in the same city. And this is worse because Mania is truly about the fans and the fans are speaking loud and clear. And it’s too late for a pop. The only way they get over 50k is if they take ALL of the tix under $1000. And TKO is too stubborn for that.

BREAKING : TKO is reportedly frustrated with the recent WrestleMania 42 ticket sales. The projected sales are way lower than last year’s WrestleMania. One source said that TKO believes they dug their own graves by hosting WrestleMania in Las Vegas again. TKO is reportedly forcing WWE to collaborate with more influencers and celebrities to promote WrestleMania.

@DonnieDetroit19 It's been this way for a long time. The assessed value is half of what the assessor deems to be the true cash value. The taxable value starts at this amount when you buy a house but is capped at 5% increase a year. When ownership transfers taxable jumps back to the assessed value

@RyanHoliday This is why I love Seneca. He points out that true wealth is having what's necessary and enough while wanting more is poverty. He recommends picking one idea a day to thoroughly digest and doesn't understand why people are careless with time, the one thing they can't replenish.

@abxxai Any good AI course tells you to always verify the answer. Notebook LM helps with this since it links to the part of the document it got the answer from.

BREAKING: 🚨 Someone just tested 35 AI models across 172 billion tokens of real document questions. The hallucination numbers should end the "just give it the documents" argument forever. Here is what the data actually showed. The best model in the entire study, under perfect conditions, fabricated answers 1.19% of the time. That sounds small until you realize that is the ceiling. The absolute best case. Under optimal settings that almost no real deployment uses. Typical top models sit at 5 to 7% fabrication on document Q&A. Not on questions from memory. Not on abstract reasoning. On questions where the answer is sitting right there in the document in front of it. The median across all 35 models tested was around 25%. One in four answers fabricated, even with the source material provided. Then they tested what happens when you extend the context window. Every company selling 128K and 200K context as the hallucination solution needs to read this part carefully. At 200K context length, every single model in the study exceeded 10% hallucination. The rate nearly tripled compared to optimal shorter contexts. The longer the window people want, the worse the fabrication gets. The exact feature being sold as the fix is making the problem significantly worse. There is one more finding that does not get talked about enough. Grounding skill and anti-fabrication skill are completely separate capabilities in these models. A model that is excellent at finding relevant information in a document is not necessarily good at avoiding making things up. They are measuring two different things that do not reliably correlate. You cannot assume a model that retrieves well also fabricates less. 172 billion tokens. 35 models. The conclusion is the same across all of them. Handing an LLM the actual document does not solve hallucination. It just changes the shape of it.

"Getting Your Attention Span Back" starter pack: step 1: find boredom first. pure unadulterated boredom. no work, no phone, no stimulation step 2: notice where your mind naturally drifts step 3: list the topics/themes/questions your brain keeps returning to step 4: find the best books in the world on those topics/themes/questions. use your own metric of "best" step 5: find a cozy spot and read those books step 6: feel free to drop books that don't resonate. this step is important step 7: write about what you're reading. this is not because you want to "optimize" the learning process (lol), but because you want to discover your mental/emotional/spiritual reactions to what you're reading step 8: cultivate a dislike for everything shallow, superficial, and speedy. the best way to do this is by cultivating a love for deep things step 9: engage with things that don't wanna monetize your attention. like sunsets and old public domain books congrats! you've regained your attention span now. don't lose it again, and if you do, just come back to this list
