So it turns out that Bitcoin is just another bubble asset that blows up when the Fed gets serious about hiking interest rates. Zero store of value function. Zero diversification benefit. Zero yield. Sayonara Bitcoin...

One of the most salvage altcoin selloffs I’ve ever seen. Can’t remember the last time ETH was down 20% in a day and other alts down more.

I have been looking into if it’s possible to make a shit ton of money on my own memecoin without screwing people over. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will my memecoin (if I do one).

I have seen nothing to get me on the #bitcoin train. Have you made money or lost money on bitcoin? Do you think it's a pyramid scheme or our economic future? Convince me.

@Ben__Rickert If SHA256 can be broken, the breaker is not starting with BTC.

The rapid advancement of quantum computing poses a significant threat to Bitcoin's security. The SHA-256 algorithm, crucial for Bitcoin's cryptography, could be broken by powerful quantum computers. This would compromise the blockchain's integrity and expose Bitcoin holders to substantial risks, highlighting the potential vulnerabilities of decentralized systems. Gold will forever shine as the ultimate store of value. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is the child of an illusion. The future will make this abundantly clear.

@GuyTalksFinance Seems a little off from the guy that talks about their financial accolades, financial freedom being debt free, and getting second jobs and selling things if you need to. Why are you willing to risk the health of others for 1 day's pay?

I’ve been pretty sick all weekend, but I’ll definitely be going into work tomorrow regardless of how I feel. I’m not going to miss a days pay just because I have a little cold. If employers cared about their employees health we would have unlimited sick days. If they don’t care, why should I care if I go in sick?

@GuyTalksFinance It does the things money does better than the other monies. Don't confuse its level of adoption for what it does. Think of email in 1995 when you get stuck on adoption levels. Email was better than sending a letter or fax but wasn't widespread in use yet.

@great_martis Is the message that owning these bubble things is bad because they just don't ever work out? I'm not following.

@_celia_bedelia_ If you think those people can't contribute to the economy, pay their bills, and pay taxes once they're forced into the private sector... what good do you imagine they're doing in government? It's a terribly framed question. That's why you're getting non-answers.

Quick question - when 3 million civil servants lose their jobs, can’t pay their bills, taxes, contribute to the economy….how does that HELP the economy?
