Really sad to hear about the end of Football Focus.
I loved that show growing up. I used to watch it every week with my dad and I remember how proud he was when I got the job. It was such a privilege to sit in the chair for 12 years, work with an amazing team on and off air and form so many lasting friendships.
Saturdays were always special.
The football landscape is constantly changing and it’s disappointing that there isn’t space for a show that has meant so much to so many people for so many years.
@DieForManUnited@Nedproper Errr.......what about Michael Keane? The first one this season, every hair pull since should be red carded or it is corruption!!
Dermot Gallagher the media spokesperson of FA_PGMOL has indirectly said other than Manchester United players we don’t want refs pulling out Red card for every small hair pulling incedent. Abosolute filth & corruptions. #mufc
@07Simmo@Ladbrokes Didn't apply to Michael Keane v Wolves. Premier League made a rod for their own back. Agree shouldn't be a red but now a precedent has been set.
Happy Easter! Evertonians waiting for the footy to return can get all the latest on the @BBCSport Everton newsfeed, including my piece on why the club, both on and off the pitch, finally feels positive. Don't forget to subscribe too to get notifications:

@Everton@UHTPodcast@Tim_Cahill Imagine Baines, Cahill and Coleman all part of the coaching set up under Moysey. They all bleed blue and would instill utter passion in playing for the shirt. UTFT 💙 💙
@AceAweis@addyb321@henrywinter It worked because CFC are part of the 'breakaway 6' and the EPL will do anything now to protect them from threatening again.
At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.
@TheoCartz@AnGarraiDubh@henrywinter CFC's transgressions is far worse than EFC's. They paid back handers to agents/players to entice them to the club and won multiple trophies off the back of it, which in turn increased the value of each player. On field advantage of the highest order. EFC had no on field advantage
So again, you’re confusing two different things here.
The recent punishment wasn’t for the 74 charges, that outcome hasn’t been disclosed yet.
For the historical issues from Roman’s era at Chelsea, the reason Chelsea got a lesser punishment is purely down to self reporting and complying from the start.
Everton weren’t fully compliant, attempted to appeal the initial punishment etc..
Henry won’t tell you all that though, so people like you think there’s some sort of bias to Chelsea. Even though it’s Roman who was forced to sell the club to the current ownership. The funds from the sale of club remain as a frozen asset.
❌ KMI Panel voted that Everton should have been awarded a penalty against Arsenal, in their 1-0 defeat
❌(KMI) Panel voted that Brighton should have been awarded a penalty against Arsenal, in their 1-0 defeat
That’s a four point swing in Arsenal’s favour
PGMOL 🤝 Arsenal
@JohnAnd26@JNorthcroft I think at the time West Ham were told it would be wrong to penalise the fans (points deduction) through wrong doing of the owners. Makes the Everton, Forest and Leicester treatment even more ridiculous!!
Clubs where the Premier League has been hardline and imposed points deductions: Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, Nottingham Forest. Still pursuing Leicester over late accounts.
Its lack of teeth with the 'elite' clubs in comparison is embarrassing.

@Olarrr122@markgoldbridge Ridiculous take. Chelsea managed to win multiple leagues and cups due to agents being paid illegally to make their player sign for Chelsea. Far worse crime than Everton, Forest or Leicester.
Chelsea were mainly punished for historical financial reporting breaches under Previous ownership (Abramovic)
So they issued a fine + suspended points deduction (basically a warning: behave or you’ll get punished later)
While
Everton were punished under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) — this is stricter and more current.
Everton overspent beyond allowed financial losses
Jamie Carragher:
“There's lots of things wrong with this Liverpool team. Nothing's working or functioning going forward or defending. But the biggest thing that stands out for me that Liverpool have lost is the press.
"And pressing, for Liverpool, was not just a Jurgen Klopp thing; he took it to a completely different level than what we've seen Liverpool teams do in the past, there's no doubt about that, but the whole point of people saying it's tough going to Anfield is not because Liverpool are always amazing on the ball or have got the best players in the world, it's because it's a tight pitch, the crowd are on top of you and Liverpool get after you.

“That is something that is sorely lacking. For me, that is the biggest problem with Liverpool right now.”
@SophyRidgeSky Unfortunately Sophy, the EPL are protecting their "big 6" to protect their brand following the breakaway attempt by the same 6. Some very dubious on field and off field decisions since then that have always benefited those 6 clubs. It really stinks!!
@KieranMaguire@GiuliaBould Can't be coincidence that ever since the 'Breakaway 6' debacle, there have been numerous on field and off field decisions to the benefit of those 6 clubs, presumably to keep them happy and fighting for trophies to 'protect the EPL brand". Utterly stinks!!
Interesting that in the Everton points deduction verdict the Premier League said “A financial penalty for a club that enjoys the support of a wealthy owner is not a sufficient penalty” and that “the requirements of deterrence, vindication of compliant clubs, and the protection of the integrity of the sport demand a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction’.
Presumably the Chelsea fine (which ultimately is just a deduction from what billion dollar Clearlake will pay to billionaire Abramovich from the £150m held back at the deal date) is then neither punishment, a deterrent or protecting the integrity of the sport?
If I was an Everton or Forest fan would not be happy with this outcome.
@Toffee82 Well said Joanne. Amazing how many fans from other clubs jumping on board now. I've even seen Arsenal & Spurs fans moaning, the irony of it!!
@cfcAds@OllieHolt22 Not struggling to understand at all, I think you are. Irrespective of what 'heading' the flaunting of rules comes under, the punishment should fit the crime. Chelsea's 'crime' is far more serious and underhand than Everton or Forest's. Change of ownership is no excuse.
@toffeeman44@OllieHolt22 It was within PSR/FFP. Issue is it wasn’t declared/reported under Abramovich. New owners declared it, Premier league missed it.
Everton literally spent more than FFP/PSR maximum losses over 3 years.
What are you struggling to comprehend?
After the Premier League's pathetically lenient punishment, here's the question we ought to be asking: should there be asterisks against the Premier League titles Chelsea won in 2014-15 and 2016-17? dailymail.co.uk/sport/football…
