I called him and told him to stop that I am not missing him, I'm gone and he should send the divorce paper that I'm waiting. Now he's begging saying that he is sorry, he didn't know what came over him. My children has been asking me about their father, how they miss him and can't wait to go home to see him. I've tried everything possible to distract them from their father but it's not working. My sister said I should give the man another chance, that maybe he has turned in a new leaf and learnt his lesson. Now I'm confused, should I go back because of the kids or should I just return the kids to him and wait for the divorce papers. Marriage would be six years by august. Please advice me.

I was married to a man who never miss an opportunity to make me feel sad. Every little thing I did became a problem, always ready to throw insults at me. He spoke to me without respect, sometimes even in front of his friends.

Another slaughter of Christians in Nigeria by jihadists, this time on Palm Sunday. Nigerian government officials have created an environment in which Christians are routinely persecuted and slaughtered, by imposing sharia law and looking the other way at violence. Those officials should know that the U.S. knows who they are, and has the tools to hold them accountable. ewtnnews.com/world/africa/p…

@MJay_Official_ @frankiemindset That’s not 50/50. He is planning on her salary and his combined to run the home, that’s not what he’s saying. He’s the provider and will pay rent, she will support him, not to split rent into half for her to pay the other half.

@hybeat1 @Prezain_LJ My point exactly, if he’s at the level where he can’t rent for family or it saves cost to rent with his friends, it’s better he does that, because bringing a wife in to share that rent it’s like his living with a “bro”, - (rent with friends like you said).

On the topic of 50/50, here are my two cents. Growing up, my father was responsible for all the bills in the house, ranging from rent and school fees to feeding, while my mum supported in any way she could. My dad never officially assigned any bill to my mum, like saying, “This year’s rent is your turn to pay.” My mum was a Chartered Accountant who earned reasonably well, and not once did she adopt the “my money is my money” mindset or hide her finances from the family. There were days she would go to the market, buy food items, and cook a sumptuous meal for the family without asking my dad for a penny, even though he always insisted on refunding her. She cooked, cleaned, and took care of the family. My dad only cooked on special occasions when he wanted to be romantic. I don’t know how my mum did it, but she always knew when my dad didn’t have money and would step up immediately. She never waited for him before doing certain things for the family. She bought my clothes, replaced my school bags and lunch boxes, and played her role effectively while my dad handled his. When my dad became a Commissioner and our financial situation improved drastically, he asked my mum to relax and use her money for herself while he took care of everything in the house, down to the salt in the kitchen. This is how I grew up, and there was never a day I witnessed my parents having issues over bills or chores. Everyone understood their roles, and they never quarreled about it, at least not to my knowledge. This is exactly how I intend to run my home. I enjoy providing for my family, and it is something to be proud of. Personally, I would not want my wife to pay for anything unless economic realities demand otherwise. Even at that, I cannot be with a woman who sees her money as only for herself and cannot support the family when needed. The moment she starts contributing and begins to challenge my leadership, I would simply make it clear that there cannot be two heads in the home. As a woman, you are working for a reason. While your primary responsibility may not be provision, you should be willing to step up when necessary. You are not doing your husband a favor; you are fulfilling your role as a wife. There is nothing wrong with paying rent, school fees, or feeding the family when your husband is temporarily unable to do so. The idea of keeping all your money to yourself or spending it only on expensive wigs, dresses, and bags is only realistic if you marry an exceptionally wealthy man. The question is, how many such men are available for the number of women seeking them? You cannot leave all the financial responsibilities to a man whose salary is not even up to 500k and expect everything to be sustainable. As a woman, the day you get married, you sign up for partnership, to pool resources together with your husband to build and grow the family. If you do not want this, then it is better not to get married.

@hybeat1 @Prezain_LJ Where would he have lived in the UK if he wasn’t married, would he not still pay that rent, the issue here is the “rent” itself, like someone said get an apartment you the man can pay comfortably pay for, the woman helps with the rest

What brings the topic of 50/50 is mostly people that relocate to the UK for survival. Man cannot carry most of the bills alone, so both parties have to contribute so they can save too. The bills and tax are draining for one person to shoulder; even citizens over there share bills. From your own story, you are not from a struggling background. I grew up seeing my dad provide for the family and my mom supporting in her own little ways too. But with this current economy, if you are not rich, you'll definitely need a supportive partner. You know why most guys are not getting married now? Most of the reason is financial. If I can be struggling as a single guy, then I add a family with a wife, saying 'my money is my money' while 'your money is our money. Make everybody do wetin work for them sha

@TheDrAfolarin Most don't have a single empathy. Lost my cousin last week Thursday around 2am. His mom was traumatised as she was there when he gave up. The Nurses couldn't even sympathise with her. Same with the Doctor. No one was asking them to cry but at least show some empathy.

It’s poverty that makes some of you argue about 50/50. I don’t think there’s any man who has the capacity to fully take care of his home and still wouldn’t do everything he can to support his family. There are many things women do that money can’t compensate for. At some point, one person has to do more. But as a man, always have a 100% provider mentality. You may not be able to afford everything right now because you’re still building, but do your best to grow and increase your capacity. I believe that as God blesses you and you’re able to provide 100% as a man, please do. Don’t allow strangers online to dictate how you run your family.
