@tylertringas I like option 3. If nothing means anything, why stress? Accept the absurdity of being human, make the best choices you can, be ok with making mistakes, and try to find as many moments of happiness as you can along the way.

@tylertringas You're describing existentialism! Entropy always wins in the end. You have 3 options: (!) Kill yourself (2) Embrace a structure (religion, family, work, etc.) and find meaning in it (3) Acknowledge the fundamental absurdity of the human condition and just kind of exist within it.

Increasingly feel like the key to life is accepting that it’s always going to feel like a barely-controlled beautiful disaster and to still enjoy it along the way.

This is hands down one of the weirdest experiences that's happened to me. Two days ago, I saw a TikTok video compilation of "worst first pitches ever" and was having a laugh, but was also instantly brought back to playing baseball as a kid - one of my Dad's favorite sports. We both loved the Padres. I played for years as a pitcher and 1st baseman. He'd take me to Padres games (Tony Gwynn was our favorite player) and even bought me Tony's book, The Art of Hitting. I haven't followed baseball or thought about it in years, but thought to myself, "It'd be so cool to throw a first pitch some day." I woke up yesterday morning to this email in my inbox. A kid I grew up with became the Director of Fan Engagement for the Padres and invited me to throw a first pitch this season for my hometown team. How insane is that? The only question now is...what should I do for my first pitch? I'm tempted to send a fastball straight down the middle as fast as I can ⚾
