@irbrodie @nspector4 What meaningful action on any front has been taken to address Canada's woeful economic performance in that time frame? Some new agencies, lots of meetings, many announcements, but no substantive change to regulatory or tax regimes. No firm signals to capital investors. Zip.

It has been 484 days since Mr Trudeau’s 51st state dinner at Mar a Lago and in that time we have built zero meters of pipeline to markets other than the US.

Why are Canadians still travelling to the States? Because it’s a nice place with friendly people. As a Canadian, my friends and I have been travelling to the U.S. with absolutely no issues. Don’t listen to the fear mongers who haven’t even visited. Canadians with no money are not travelling to the States because they need to pay for food. Next trip to the U.S. booked!

@DrJStrategy So you are saying that a major cut in oil supply is not an issue

For the record Ignore the noise: this is NOT the 1970s and Trump is NOT launching Iraq 2.0. High‑frequency data show no demand destruction: Americans are still spending, flying and filling hotels. Inflation expectations are well anchored. The “Iran shock” is a short term volatility trade, not a new regime. The real story is unchanged: Supply Side Policy regime shift, AI capex, an industrial renaissance and the One Big Beautiful Bill are far more powerful than a temporary oil spike. Markets are mispricing a squall as a superstorm. Ignore the noise. Ignore the Doomers. Have a nice day.

@FilmLadd I am right there with you. Take those islands and turn them over to the UAE later. Sieze any ships from Kharg in the Gulf of Oman.

I am almost - but not quite - willing to bet that the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, Qeshm, and Hormuz will be under U.S. and allied control within two weeks.

If Canadians really wanted to see how much we need the US, maybe @POTUS should shut down the US borders to Canada and halt all air travel for a mere 7 days and see how it effects us.🤭 No trade. No vacations. No nothing. No traffic period. Do you think it might open some yes?

@Casey3777 That is true. They support Liberals because it doesn't effect them. We need it to effect them for them to see it.

@PrairieVeteran @POTUS A bunch of dumb American fools on here that don’t know anything about economics or trade. The USA would be crippled without Canada. Canada will sell our energy to China or India and we won’t even care

@PrairieVeteran @POTUS You are so stupid. Shut the border and you don’t get oil or gas or power or timber or aluminum. The USA is completely dependent on Canada

@DanielJHannan Then don't bitch when you don't have any oil and gas deliveries coming out of the middle east. If you can't send a few ships from your depleted militaries to ensure safe passage and expect us to it for free for your benefit, you can get fucked.

NATO members are obliged to support one another if attacked, not to join wars of choice. That stipulation was made at the demand of the US, which also insisted that the commitment be territorially limited. “The treaty does not cover the entire world,” said Dean Acheson. “It applies only to the North Atlantic area.” He made clear that this had been the key American condition. “We deliberately avoided any implication that we were undertaking a global military commitment.” The Senate, worried about being dragged into European colonial wars, had threatened to refuse ratification unless the limitations were explicit. As John Foster Dulles put it: “If it were made global in scope, it would not be acceptable to the United States.” Despite all this, the only time that NATO has gone to war was indeed out of area, at the request of the US after 9/11.

@Churchill4wit @HansMahncke Ukraine is defending itself. The US chose to launch a potentially catastrophic war with no consultations with allies. Also, Trump lies off his ass about everything, including how much was spent in Ukraine.

@HansMahncke Precisely. Moreover, all they had to do is send a few frigates and mine sweepers to support their own supply lines. Ukraine is not a NATO issue either. And US spent 300 billion plus endless intel and weapons assistance.

@HansMahncke You are a complete moron and people like you make me laugh at your stupidity. The USA has been fucking every country since the War that they sat out. They didn’t get involved and only did after they were attacked. They were not in the war for over 2 years

What so many fail to understand is that MAGA is not about Donald Trump. MAGA is about America. We the People were searching for someone, "anyone," willing to fight corruption and preserve freedom. We found that in Donald Trump. He is our voice. You see, it's not a cult. It's a revolution. Make America Great Again!

The NDP Premier of Manitoba is too much of a pussy to go kick Doug Fords ass for dumping Crown Royal, a Canadian whisky, live on TV. Your politics is a mess and you're so stupid to have a trade temper tantrum over 15% of all trade with the US. Trump gave Carney the second best trade deal in the world but Carney is taking Canada down by globalist ineptitude. I'm fully versed on Canadian politics. Don't blame Trump for Liberal Party stupidity.
