Rice has 2x Euros finals (2020 & 2024), World Cup QF & SF on his England CV in just 7 years, that’s more than what Souness (3 World Cup group stage exits) & Scholes (never made it past the quarterfinal stage even once for England both Euros & WC) ever achieved for their countries

As an England fan, I can watch the games we’ve played and see clearly that our shortcomings are not down to one man, not least our number 9.
