I’d argue Southampton have got away with it. Expulsion was bog standard play in a knockout comp. But only getting -4 points is a relief for them because if you think they’ve *just* spied on three clubs then I have a glass hammer to sell you

The EFL haven’t just punished us; they’ve ruined us.
In addition to losing half our team, we’ll be sued for many, many millions by players, sponsors & rival teams.
We’re essentially facing years of decline and pain on and off the pitch.

An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training. In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table. The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. Let them play the final as it is, if Hull win, Hull go up, if Southampton win, only Coventry & Ipswich go up & whoever finishes 18th in the Premier League survives. Only fair solution for all involved really

It was all fun and games when people were in fancy dress with binoculars, but now there’s talk of our Wembley trip being messed about because of them cheating I firmly believe Southampton should be kicked out of the play-offs, liquidated, and the city levelled to the ground.
