@AfterGrogBlog I was able to see score on Gordon St as I drove past. Job done.

Just a thought, but whenever I drive past a Castlemaine home game I can never read the score, so perhaps whoever built the Scray scoreboard can pack their tools and take a trip to the country.

@JamesNanks @wutube Champion Demon, Brian Dixon (wearing his sports for all hat) managed to get AFL registered as an offical sport within CCP Ministry of (multi ball) Sports - not quite in schools but was accredited and enabled national teams in AFL International Cups.

@tomredtape @wutube I recall there being something about getting Aussie Rules certified as a school sport in China also?

I've been to the footy since I was a kid, and haven't seen many fans of Chinese/East Asian heritage at games, which is crazy given Australia's rich history of immigrants from that part of the world. Hopefully this idea will help drive more interest. theage.com.au/sport/afl/drag…

@JamesNanks @wutube Nanks, 💯 we (MFC) did that back in 2008 but for many Chinese international students a game of footy at the G was a bucket list like visiting penguins. Hopefully, Patrick’s book showcasing Chinese-Australians untold but incredible link to Aussie Rules will build a stronger links.

@wutube Around 2008 when MFC was building towards the game in Shanghai we had a game where we gave out a couple thousand tickets to Chinese/East Asian students and had a bloke doing Mandarin commentary on earpieces (or something to that effect). @tomredtape would remember better detail.

One upside of many of these grand old #Shanghai hotels not having been “done up” is that they can still be quite cheap to stay in. We saw an older Shanghai couple having a staycation at the Park Hotel to remember their wedding celebration here when they were young. #China

@bentyers Was very embarrassed explaining to physio recently how I had simply woken up with an injured wrist, and the young man gently reassured me this was very common in middle age

Now at a point where I have strained a calf muscle while sleeping. Time to pack it in.
