In the last five years, Crunchyroll has more than tripled its subscriber base. During that time, the company has been key in anime's burgeoning popularity around the world. But that's not the whole story. In its tenure as part of Sony, we now know Crunchyroll is only used by roughly 1 in 6 PSN members *who watch anime*, according to an interview with Hiroki Totoki in today's Financial Times. This single statistic can't be used to extrapolate too much for a variety of reasons, but paired with last week's anti-piracy efforts -- which took down more than half of the top 10 bootleg anime streaming sites -- it's clear that for all of its great work, Big Orange still has a lot of hearts and minds to win over in the anime fandom. @AgendaFreeTV I think it’s a great idea. Particularly if you did it on a regular time schedule. Then people would look forward to tuning in at a certain time to hear the latest news. You could test it by doing a news of the week show. 🤔

Hi everyone -- I was considering trying out some multiple-story, "world news wrap-up" streams when there isn't one big story out there that merits its own stream but instead there are several stories that I think are still important and would be interesting to cover. For example, today that might include stories like the protest in Tel Aviv calling for a ceasefire & return of the hostages, a former top aide of NY Governor Hochul getting arrested for being a foreign agent of China, and the Russian missile strike in Poltava, Ukraine that killed over 50 people. I'm worried that if I do "wrap-up" streams like this subscribers to the channel will feel that they're being given something they didn't sign up for (i.e. "We subscribe for you for the BIG breaking news stories, not wrap-ups of less big stories."). So I wanted to get your feedback on it. If you have any thoughts (positive or negative, both are welcome) feel free to post them in the comments below. Thank you! p.s. If I were going to try this, I could put the names of the stories in the title (e.g. "Israel Protest, former Hochul Aide Arrested, Ukraine Missile Strike & More") if people think that would be helpful. We have done streams covering two stories before but only when both are big enough stories that would each merit their own stream if the other weren't also going on.

After so many years of work I finally have an archiving setup I'm proud of! Dual 4K monitors on a new PC with a scanner, Domeday Duplicator modified Laserdisc player, Super VHS player, and even a cheap little BD ripper that will probably be upgraded in the future. Back to it!
