In our homeschool, we don’t do formal grammar or writing lessons until age 10-12. During elementary years we do daily reading and copy work. These two practices combined build strong print and cursive writing, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and content creation. It’s incredible how strong their skills become by first learning them from other writers.

Schools: If you opt out of public school, NH gives you ~6k per student to use for homeschooling costs or private school tuition. This is a universal, no income limit Education Freedom Account for any school age (K and up) child. There are many families who homeschool with some established Christian co-ops in the area. Private options in the area include - Catholic school, pk-12 (20 min) - Conservative Christian/Lutheran school pk-8 (20 min) - 2 Montessori prek/k options (20 min) - Waldorf prek - Some Nature Based daycare options - Classical Catholic prek-12 (35 min) Parish Life: - Reverent NO parish (20 min) - TLM parish (10 min) - Catholic College with daily Latin NO and TLM masses (20 min) Local Food Access: Our town is on the border of Mass. Within a 45 min radius in both states, there are hundreds of small farms and farmsteads selling raw milk, pasture raised meat, eggs, and vegetables year round. It is truly a place to eat well and local. Tax Burden: ~5k in property taxes. No income or sales tax. This could change with fluctuating local school budgets.
