Filipinos 🇵🇭 and Mexicans 🇲🇽 are basically the same… My Filipino friend went to meet his girlfriend’s family in Mexico 🇲🇽 Came back and said: “I had no idea how similar Mexicans and Filipinos are” Opposite sides of the world… connected for 250+ years under Spanish rule, with people, culture, and religion moving between them And somehow… everyone forgot

@DamonZumbroegel @mageeclegg I’m Mexican & I live in Mexico, I’ve lived in LA, I’ve been to the Philippines & we don’t look alike & we aren’t similar lol that’s like saying white people in the US are the same as Polish or Germans.

People don’t know this! I’ve been saying it for 30 years! Mexico and the Philippines are nearly the same. When I look around Mexico….I think I’m in the Philippines. When I’m in the Philippines, I think I’m in Mexico….and people speak Spanish! The towns names, the people’s names, the language, the religion, etc etc. …….are nearly the same. Crazy but true.

Just watched a video about remote workers going to Mexico City and locals getting mad because the tourists are mad they don't speak English. The reply from one lady was "we speak Spanish here, not English" and that threw me back to when I worked construction in Florida and the workers all got mad when we didn't speak Spanish. Full circle moment, lol

@NoCapCapitalLLC The humidity during the summer on the east coast is gnarly. Nothing like Manhattan smelling like hot wet garbage after a mid-August thunderstorm. Here in the Seattle area, by late June the sun sets around 9pm. We see maybe around a week total of 90+ weather.

The west coast of the US, especially the Pacific Northwest, has the most elite summers in the USA. Everyone knows this. NYC isn’t even top 10.

@najoe2019 @JakeNomada Puebla is a top 3 city in Mexico, we got all the designer stores, restaurants, a lot of us make a lot of cheese over here. $1000 a month is chump change over here, you need at least $2000 USD to live decent in Puebla or other places in Mexico.

@JakeNomada So two people that each make $1k a month. You can live comfortably in Mexico with 35,000mxn a month. Either way I know people in MTY who live with a roommate and get by with $1000 a month. Idk what you consider 2nd tier, but definitely in those cities. Puebla, Cuenavaca?

Sure, and many of them also live with their extended families and solely take public transportation Is that how you're going to live as a foreigner in Mexico? No, it's not You're going to rent an Airbnb, take Ubers, etc. The whole premise of living for $1,000/month or whatever is to do it with a decent quality of life Not all your sacrificing creature comforts You just can't do that in Mexico these days as foreigner, unless you sign a year lease in a 3rd tier city
