Because she's trying to show you she's not the one you should marry in her own sloppy way. But that's the effect, when really you want to know the cause. In reality, it is because she is too weak to humanise a man beyond his competence by tolerating the vulnerability in him in a way that burdens her, it scares her, makes her feel unsafe, and so suddenly becomes "all about her" and her feelings to the complete negligence of yours. You have to realise all but the best of women are pretty low functioning human beings. They need constant stabilisation, but the first time you need it back, even if it's in far lower frequency or intensity, they act as if some grand illusion or mask has dropped, that you committed a crime, and they "see you differently now" and "don't find you as attractive" In reality, they never actually loved who the fuck you are as a man, but what you did for them and how you made them feel. They never looked beyond that to the core depth of the human generating those feelings, to see you for who you are and accept you in all your greatness and flaws. In truth, most men are never seen, and the very moment a woman sees a deeper part of him that is unglamorous she doesn't like, she updates/revises her view of him to reject him. There are women who do not do this. They are great women and better than most women, but they are a slither of all women. These are the only women worth marrying if you care about marrying for true love. The rest won't even acknowledge your humanity, will be sweet and cute when things go well, but switch on you when you struggle. This is why the conventional advice is things women hate like "don't let her see you cry" and "don't open up everything to her" - women hate this advice because they want core emotional access to a man, as leverage over him at worst and in the desire to merge at best - but in reality most of them are not equipped to handle and stabilise a man's nervous system trauma or cradle him in his weak moments. They will freak out and run. Hope this answers your question.

My grammar school Latin tells me what it originally meant, but the word has since "evolved" to mean its opposite. From Merriam Webster: Decimate is a word that often raises hackles, at least those belonging to a small but committed group of logophiles who feel that it is commonly misused. The issue that they have with the decline and fall of the word decimate is that once upon a time in ancient Rome it had a very singular meaning: “to select by lot and kill every tenth man of a military unit.” However, many words in English descended from Latin have changed and/or expanded their meanings in their travels. For example, we no longer think of sinister as meaning “on the left side,” and delicious can describe things both tasty and delightful. Was the “to kill every tenth man” meaning the original use of decimate in English? Yes, but not by much. It took only a few decades for decimate to acquire its broader, familiar meaning of “to severely damage or destroy,” which has been employed steadily since the 17th century.

Why doesn’t anyone know what decimate means?
