I wouldn't be running for governor today if it weren't for the dedicated teachers who shaped my path and pushed me to dream bigger. They are the backbone of our state, yet for too long, we’ve asked them to do the impossible with shamefully limited resources and far too little support. They show up early, stay late, and often reach into their own pockets to make sure their students have the food or supplies they need to succeed. Teacher Appreciation Week is a great time for a "thank you," but our educators deserve more than just performative platitudes. They deserve a state government that backs them up with real investment and respect. Great schools start with great teachers, and that means fighting for fully funded classrooms, higher pay, and the support staff needed to let teachers focus on what they do best: teaching. We'll make sure our appreciation is reflected in our policies, ensuring every educator is supported and every student has the opportunity to thrive.
