Am späten Dienstagabend, 21. Okt., durfte ich den Vorsitzenden des Verteidigungsausschusses des Deutschen Bundestags, @TR_Bremen, samt seiner Delegation zu einem Abendimbiss und zu einem echten Nikodemus-Gespräch, das bis in die Nacht hinein dauerte, empfangen. (1/2)

At the Palestine College for Police Sciences in Jericho, the delegation discussed training capacities, institutional reform and structural challenges for the Palestinian Civil Police. Strengthening effective and accountable security forces remains essential for lasting stability.

In discussions with @ochaopt, @UNSCO_MEPP, @WFP_MENA & @roteskreuz_de, MP Röwekamp exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the urgent need for secure access and coordination among international partners.

In the Christian village of Taybeh, the delegation explored the challenges facing Palestinian Christians amid rising settler violence and pressure on local communities. “We will do everything we can to help you live in peace. This is our moral duty, and we will stand with you.”

During the conversation with the PM, which was also joined by PA Minister of Planning Dr. Salameh, @TR_Bremen underlined that “security guarantees for the Palestinian people and a clear political horizon are essential for any credible plan for the future.”

In a meeting with @PalestinePMO Dr. Mustafa, talks focused on Gaza’s postwar future, Palestinian governance reforms & Germany’s role in reconstruction. @TR_Bremen reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to a 2-state solution as an outcome of negotiations as the path to stability & peace.

The visit began in Jerusalem with a conversation between @TR_Bremen’s delegation and @PaterNikodemus at Dormitio Abbey on the situation of Christians in the Holy City, interfaith coexistence, and the role of religious institutions in times of war and conflict.
