Effective immediately, Maryland state government employees are BANNED from using inside information from their jobs to make money on prediction markets. Government officials should never be able to participate in prediction markets. It creates a conflict of interest for officials and encourages them to work for the markets and not their constituents. My executive order makes sure no one in my administration will be able to line their own pockets through predictive markets.

Here comes another “emergency” election bill from Annapolis. SB 255. Dropping a brand-new, made-up term: “Polarized Voting.” Let me translate for the people of Maryland. “Polarized Voting” means this: if any “protected class” doesn’t get the election outcome they wanted, they can claim their vote was “diluted” and sue your county or town into oblivion. It’s not about fair elections. It’s about rigging the rules so one group’s disappointment becomes everyone else’s expensive lawsuit. The bill moves to 3rd reader and will be voted on tomorrow.

Allowing birthright citizenship to stay in place dilutes the citizenship of not just black Americans like me, but every single American citizen. They had to earn it the right way. Let's say this in black and white. Either you're a u.s citizen or you are not. Now the left has spent decades cheapening what it means to be an American citizen. They have quite literally been chipping away at the basic value of American citizenship. They pretend to be altruistic, but we know the truth.”

If Maryland's state government were a country, it would be a third-world banana republic. Last night, Annapolis Democrats pushed the $71B budget to a vote with no notice, no media, and at 9:15 PM on a Monday. I'd bet not a single rank-and-file member on either side read the conference report. Why would you read something that wasn't on the agenda? This was clearly done to limit debate and criticism of a budget that cuts funding for the disabled and is built on last year's largest tax increase in Maryland history. Does anyone want to take a shot at explaining how a budget that spends $3B more of your hard-earned money than last year makes your life more affordable?

Today, I journeyed to an obscure part of the Capitol basement to see the long-awaited plaque honoring the police officers who defended Congress and America against Trump’s insurrectionary mob on January 6, 2021. To his credit, Sen. Tillis joined Democrats in demanding it be put up, but this spot is not accessible to the public. Speaker Johnson, come on—put the plaque in its rightful place of honor.
