1/ 🚊 Big milestone for Austin Light Rail. On January 16, the project cleared a major federal approval — and it’s a big step toward making this vision a reality.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR AUSTIN 🚨 The federal government has officially given Project Connect Light Rail the green light to move forward. This decision confirms that the project has cleared a major federal review and can now continue toward construction with federal partnership. This is a huge step in building better transit for our growing city. TxDOT agrees: Our roads are full, our cities are growing, and we need more options. Last session, I filed a bill to repeal the state’s ban on high speed rail and start building the modern transit system Texans deserve. It’s time to think big, plan ahead, and connect Texas.

Big moment: The Texas Department of Transportation is finally acknowledging that a car-only future won’t cut it. It’s time for bold transit investment across the state. As Texas gears up for 9 + million new residents by 2050, the new draft statewide transit plan says we need options besides driving. This is a win for mobility & climate all over the State!

Most of Route 30 in Austin is on track to be upgraded from every 30 min to every 15 minute service! The newish mixed use district at the Grove will finally have all day frequent service to the rest of Austin
