I’m noticing a lot of foreigners who seem to not understand why we’d risk hundreds of lives, spend millions of dollars, and sacrifice several aircraft to rescue one guy. And the reason they don’t understand is also the reason people can’t be made American by a piece of paper.

They were purged because they didn't have the ability or the intestinal fortitude to accomplish a mission like the CSAR recovery that just happened. Mark should be glad he's retired or he'd be on the chopping block also.

I see the French still carry a white flag daily and still have no balls. This CSAR mission is the very reason young men will bleed and die for the United States. The French won't even sack up when they are being invaded by Jihadists.

The CSAR recovery conducted in Iran is the epitome of the spirit of our armed forces. Around 100 men willing to die to bring their brother in arms home. Six aircraft sacrificed for one man. This is why young men are willing to bleed and die for this nation. Bravo Zulu to everyone one involved. Rep the set bois.

@to48864 @shortmagsmle Looks like we lost 2 C-130s and 4 MH-6 little birds. C-130s got stuck in the sand. Little birds came in on the 130s and they couldn't fly them back out. We bombed the shit out of those once all the pax were recovered. All the reporting I've seen is ZERO personnel casualties.

Imagine you are a working father living in the Midwest, you make 75k a year. You can support your family, but you're not rich. You worry about paying for college. The cause of the malfunction has not yet been disclosed, with this incident only being described as an "anomaly". -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Indications and warnings are growing that the intensification of the war in Iran might be what is colloquially known in the targeting world as Shaping Fires, in other words blowing up a lot of stuff in preparation for a future objective. Since the start of the war, the United States has been working through a High Payoff Target List (HPTL), which is basically a list of targets arranged by which ones should be struck first. In an air war, the targets at the top of the list are usually missile defense sites, radar arrays, or any other targets which might be more important to take out first. As time goes on, eventually lower-priority targets can be struck. However, in going through this process, the world eventually finds out what targets were on that list. And right now, a month after the war began, the targets that are being struck are probably an indicator of what is being planned for. However, this rhetoric is not reflected by the raw information available at the present moment concerning the situation on the ground. Operations so far indicate that if a ground invasion were on the menu, the targets that are being struck right now are the exact sites that would need to be struck for any ground combat element to have any chance of success at all. Nevertheless, aside from the forward deployment of troops to the region, many more boxes must be checked before any ground operation would be feasible. However, at this point, that kill-chain has not been disrupted to a sufficient degree, and Iranian forces routinely conduct over-the-horizon targeting capability. So in short, it may be some time before even the most basic ground operation will be feasible under current military doctrine. However, the textbook can always be disregarded at any point, and decision-makers are going to do whatever they so choose. Listen, it would be tone deaf of me to pretend that this year isn’t different from last year. The response was absolutely insane last year; but I know we are all feeling the squeeze. It’s tough out there. I want being a scalper to always be free, something you can’t buy. But even “just show up” is now… frankly a lot. I get it. Perhaps we make it a little different: what about a smaller regional powwow, something you could drive to instead of fly in, and still get a chance to meet your regional counterparts and have some fun?
