@tread92 @BITCOINALLCAPS the discussion around "official" is meandering nonsense. there was only one implementation, and only one source.

BitcoinTalk, org claiming Satoshi Nakamoto as a "Bitcoin Core Developer" is inaccurate. Satoshi never made any commits to Bitcoin Core. Bitcoin on sourceforge migrated to eventually "Core" on github after Satoshi left. "Bitcoin core developer" tag is absent in some instances too.

Genesis block coinbase field ??EThe Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks 2009-01-03 18:15:05 UTC This gives high probability that satoshi nakamoto was based in UK around that time @BITCOINALLCAPS

@BITCOINALLCAPS @Cipherhoodlum Are you against bitcoin core project using his/her/it name as an endorsement of the project? If so then agree, it created bitcoin the original project. It did not contribute to the forked community versions.

@tread92 @Cipherhoodlum I agree that "Satoshi is the original Bitcoin project developer", But Bitcoin Core is not the original project for which Satoshi developed for. "Satoshi was a core contributor to Bitcoin" I agree with though, which may be an interpretation of this tag on BitcoinTalk.

We need less posts like these - people smugly patting themselves on the back for a story that cannot be verified with the chance that many others stocks have made losses...

@Cipherhoodlum @BITCOINALLCAPS yes, 100%. Red Hat is a distro containing the linux kernel. The changing of the name of the project to bitcoin core was a solid choice - distinguishing the project from the protocol/idea/rules.

BITCOIN - Decentralized & P2P
@BITCOINALLCAPS @tread92 Naah…. Red Hat is a different category. Bitcoin Core is more like the continuing Linux kernel itself than a separate company built around it. Satoshi wrote and released the original Bitcoin software that later evolved into Bitcoin Core.

BITCOIN - Decentralized & P2P
@tread92 @BITCOINALLCAPS So…“Core dev” means … ….participating in the modern review process, BIPs, GitHub PR review, IRC/mailing list coordination, post-2013 governance norms. Satoshi never participated in that ecosystem because it didn’t exist yet 🤔

BITCOIN - Decentralized & P2P
@BITCOINALLCAPS @tread92 Satoshi was the original Bitcoin developer and author of the initial codebase. Bitcoin Core is the continuation of that software project even though the Bitcoin Core name and current repository structure came later.

@tread92 Satoshi used code from Eric Young and credited him in release notes. Eric Young was not a Bitcoin developer even though Bitcoin used his code. So too here with Satoshi and Core.

SpaceX IPOs next month at x 100 P/Sales. Apple for context IPO”d at x 15 P/Sales. The bigger issue is 70% of the Capex spend was on AI ( XAi ) and the company reported a loss in this division. So what are you buying and why are people falling for this outrageous valuation? Trying to find the source but I had read that even if the company grew at 30% , for 30 years. It would only be a 30 PE then!

@BraaiEngineer Interested in this tool though...I thought everything is lumped together and then the weighted average price determines the base cost for each security

In South Africa, SARS (our IRS) demands that any disposals of equities or crypto use FIFO stock accounting (first-in, first-out), which means that if you buy $10k now and immediately sell it, you instantly incur Capital Gains Tax (CGT) if you previously purchased any of that equity at a lower price. This is IMO deeply unfair given that the whole point of investment is to buy at a lower price and sell at a higher price, so it punishes smart investors who want to get out of a bad trade. It also makes stock accounting very difficult, because you always have to account for all purchases from the beginning of time, which is complex. I built an entire AI-friendly ledger called @0txApp to solve this, but the costs are still real. CGT on homogenous disposals should be taxed using LIFO stock accounting, not FIFO.
