For me, Moises Caicedo is not enough from a physical standpoint. We are too lightweight. Even Pep, who loves technical players, is buying Semenyo, who can't control the ball. It shows you where the Premier League is heading. Look at the top teams on height/physicality: Arsenal: Rice, Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori, Havertz, Merino, Hincapie. City: Rodri, Dias, Semenyo, Haaland, O'Reilly, Doku (not tall but very physical). Liverpool: van Dijk, Kanote, Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai, Isak, Ekitike, Gakpo. Aston Villa: Konsa, Mings, Onana, Torres, Rogers, Abraham. Chelsea: Caicedo, James and Colwill. Then who else? I think the club is right to prioritise height and physicality. We lack that. Barco can come in but he can only play Enzo role and LB. Can't use him in the pivot. PSG midfield people are using as example has Neves who is a physical monster despite lack of height but they use Ruiz or Zaire-Emery to balance that.

OK. Let me break it down. The biggest issues we have in this squad are height and legs. I have said it before: Caicedo should play more box-to-box to improve our OOP. Essugo, Lavia, and Santos are good but lack height and are not more physical than Onana, who is winning a higher percentage of ground and aerial duels than Caicedo this season. And we know Caicedo is among the best. Plus, Onana can play box to box, has legs for coverage, very quick off first yards and mid yards, and can carry too. Can disrupt plays with interceptions. I think people see him with his Everton lens. His game in possession has taken a massive jump. He's currently losing 6 possession per game. For a midfielder, that's solid. It's okay to have a certain opinion about a player, but it's important to understand when there is an upward shift in performance. The guy has massively improved. I'm not sure we have space for another midfielder, but if anyone leaves, I would take his profile over Guimaraes, Sandros, and Balebas. An Onana-Caicedo pivot would be insane. Trust me.

For me, he will make a lot of sense profile-wise. He has improved so many aspects of his game at Villa. I still think Caicedo is a better box-to-box than 6.
