@iamRav You should work with rising art super star @BIGMOMsloth__ she has a kinda capcom bengus vibe that people really fuk with. She can also say the alphabet backwards and crack a cinder block in half with her head. Pretty cool stuff!

Check it out, they made my pitch into a game :) I'm really excited to see people try it!
Manifold@ManifoldMarkets
We just released Predictle, a new daily prediction market puzzle game! Go try it out, and sort from highest to least probability in as few guesses as you can!

@diamondminercat @Mollyploofkins For ethical reasons I will not be the one to encourage an order of two beef burgers that might not otherwise occur without my positive input. It is your decision.
English

@trensient @Mollyploofkins trensient should I order the trump meal would that be a good bit
English

@diamondminercat @Mollyploofkins Ming that's 1700 calories assuming medium fries, like totally achievable but also way too much for one meal
English

@Mollyploofkins Is it just me or is this not really that crazy. McDonald's burgers are tiny eating 3 is probably like a good sized personal pizza's worth of food
English

@diamondminercat @SenSanders I'm a bit confused where your getting the idea that AI data centers are not increasing electricity cost from, I understand I'm not educated on the nuances but that's opposite to magnitudes of reporting I've seen
English

@trensient @SenSanders theres no evidence power cost is going up bc of ai, theres even reasons to think it might be lowering it by increasing grid capability and flattening the demand curve from peak hours. and none of the ai water scare stories hold up to real scrutiny, the gov already handles it fine
English

@diamondminercat @SenSanders Ppl generally massively overcorrect on the significance of water and power cost, but they are still significant problems in specific locales that are directly impacting a not insignificant number of people right now, dismissing any mention of them entirely is I think quite silly.
English

@SenSanders These are all very good points and important concerns, but AI does not currently require a globally significant amount of water nor power, the framing there is misleading. Compared to huge job loss, the future hypothetical of power bills raising is silly. Otherwise, well done.
English

@diamondminercat Although to elaborate, I mostly dislike the stock market for different reasons, there's gambling involved there but sites like kalshi and in particular sports betting are often deeply predatory and addictive, the growth of that industry has been depressing to see.
English

it's profoundly sad to see a concept you believed in before people even knew what it was hit the mainstream and become politically polarized and misunderstood. like what if leftists decided they hate base 12 number systems or conlangs or [thing you like]
Kalshi@Kalshi
CNN partners with Kalshi to integrate prediction markets into its global newsroom. The first major news network to embrace Kalshi prediction markets. A new era of media is here.

@tenobrus I do find it funny, but logically, it's not self-condemning. Obviously, if enough people repeat the same lies about you, you'll be able to recognize them. E.g., if someone said "the guy who wants us to nuke OpenAI", Yudkowsky could justifiably recognize they probably mean him.
English

gary marcus seeing this descriptor and immediately identifying with it so strongly he decides to peruse legal action is some of the funniest shit i've ever seen

Alfredo Canziani@alfcnz
Wild how a clown who has never trained a neural net feels entitled to criticise an expert who dedicated his life to pushing this field forward while also teaching all the non-obvious details to newcomers.
English

@diamondminercat Is that standard curriculum? I don't think I ever did times tables memorization in school, I would have to think about most of them
English

@diamondminercat @_CyrusFire_ Why do leftists write fvckass a lot? Is it because you're trying to sound black but also avoid slurs ?
English

@LICH_REAPER @reallyoldchick1 @Toastii_Alt Also want to note I'm not defending AI but I think it should be attacked from more truthful angles such as the fact that it's making people a shit ton stupider, makez sections of the internet entirely unusable, uses theft in training, hallucinates, gives tools to scammers, etc.
English

@LICH_REAPER @reallyoldchick1 @Toastii_Alt Primary water usage of beef is not direct consumption but the water cost of growing animal feed, animal feed like alfalfa take the majority of agriculture water consumption in the u.s. 1 pound of beef takes around 1800 gallons of water to produce all factors accounted for.
English

English

@LICH_REAPER @reallyoldchick1 @Toastii_Alt AI is rapidly placing strain on our water system when our water is already extremely stretched thin, so it isn't helping the problem, but probably the best thing you can do for the environment is cut beef from your diet. It's literally orders of magnitude worse than AI.

@peteypayless Everyday I grow more and more angry we don't at least have this
English

@diamondminercat @cspan One of the few people who are responsible for the decision and she knows will kill the guy. It's hard for me to believe she expresses any true forgiveness here.
English

@diamondminercat @cspan I believe actions matter a lot more than words and she has specifically chosen to not take part in the decision over the death penalty while posturing about forgiveness. She has a unique position that she could probably successfully push against it, but instead stands along side
