Shame on you @NBA for having a game seven on Amazon Prime. That game should’ve been on NBC, ABC/ESPN. I know the only thing y’all give a damn about is money. But all this is doing is disenfranchising the viewers.

More than 40 million people rely on the Colorado River for water and many in the West take it for granted. But the Colorado River is on the brink of disaster and those who rely on it could face new restrictions as the river continues to shrink. CBS News’ @JonVigliotti has more.

@YellowstoneNPS I watched two brown bears yesterday at Hyder, Alaska (from a designated viewing platform). When they stepped two feet into the forest, I could no longer see them even though I knew they were there. (Photo 4 has the cub.)

@amazingmap I did not see La Plata, but the flat landscape there made Buenos Aires itself boring and forgettable when walking around.

Pockets of PEAK tundra color are now appearing in northern Siberia. The Brooks Range of Alaska is a few days behind, but they'll be the first U.S. location to reach peak color by midweek.

@ExploreFall Tuktoyuktuk, NWT, Canada, is a ways off (photo today, 10 miles south of Arctic Ocean), but I suspect higher elevations on the Dempster Highway to be peak as I drive south.

@amazingmap Like when they built Navajo Bridge in 1920s over Colorado River near Page AZ and the ferry went out. Sending a hammer from one side to the other was 800 miles one way through Needles CA, nearest other bridge.

Born in spring, red fox kits are a lively sight on our public lands. As they grow, they venture out of their dens, pouncing, playing, and practicing the skills they’ll need to survive, like hunting and foraging.

On June 17, 2017, a massive landslide in Karrat Fjord, northwestern Greenland 🇬🇱triggered a powerful tsunami. Around 50 million cubic meters of rock fell from a mountain near Ummiammakku, crashing into the fjord from 1,000 meters above sea level. The resulting wave reached up to 90 meters near the impact site and caused severe damage in the village of Nuugaatsiaq, about 30 km away. Four people died, (couple with their child and an elderly man sadly lost their lives) and eleven homes were destroyed. The persons in the video survived. The tsunami traveled about 30km down the fjord, reaching the settlement of Nuugaatsiaq, where the wave was 1–1.5 meters high on the water but caused a run-up of around 9 meters on land. Due to the ongoing risk of further landslides and tsunamis, both Nuugaatsiaq and the nearby village Illorsuit were permanently abandoned.

If you think San Fransisco has reached its final form… you are wrong. Cities are not museums and must evolve over time or wither away. SF needs to get over itself and start green lighting new denser housing across the entire city.
