I remember that he traveled the multiverse after the Flashpoint and other brainiacs are like his avatars, but he's not connected to them in any meaningful way.

That's mahoraga on steroids. Mahoraga can adapt to whatever he wants, superman can always just put him in space and leave him there, since maho can't fly.
