Now teams try to build from the back, so LCB is key for better passing angles. Maldini was left footed CB long before it became popular.

I get your point, but think of the champions league now.
England are getting lots of money, hence, they’re dominating all competitions, does that mean that England should keep getting all the slots?
They can make an incentive like champions league whereby, those who finish higher in the confederations cup for instance, get an extra slot for their country, that’s if it doesn’t exist already

BREAKING: CAF have reportedly rejected the Egyptian Football Association's proposal to increase the number of Egyptian clubs participating in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. The request was based on the sustained success of Egyptian clubs in continental competitions, with powerhouses like Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids FC consistently reaching the latter stages and winning major honours. However, CAF has decided to maintain the current qualification structure for the 2026/27 season. That means the existing allocation of places remains unchanged: The top 12 associations in CAF's five-year rankings continue to receive 2 Champions League and 2 Confederation Cup spots each. All other member associations retain 1 spot in each competition. Thoughts? Should CAF reward the continent's strongest leagues with additional slots, or is keeping the current system the best way to preserve competitive balance across African football?
