@id_armed @TheLiegeDecado There is someone impersonating you under the handle id__armed. I just hope I haven't screwed myself. >_<
This is why I don't use twitter, fucking hell...
English

@id_armed @TheLiegeDecado I was also interested in the Laserbeak

@dilophosaurid Found a rack of him at Target, bought on sight. Never saw again. Zero regrets.
English

I bought this but is earthspark deluxe soundwave really as rare as everyone is making it seem
Storm™@dilophosaurid
Huh

@SixoTF @JoeyfromdaDMV At the time, those two extra bits for the date made a pretty huge difference for memory and storage and processing. They very reasonably assumed something better would be in place later. Reality is lazy though.
English

@JoeyfromdaDMV By today’s standards, perhaps, but then a lot of those systems had been programmed in the 60s or 70s without thinking ahead to when this might be a problem. It was a big thing
English

It’s wild that some folks *still* think this was all just hysteria because “nothing happened” when in reality a lot of folks worked really hard to solve the problem beforehand so it didn’t become a thing on the day

@Thewolfamonggus @KennyLauderdal3 Inspector Gadget is a cyborg, not a robot. Mm.

@damnyouwillis I spent a non-trivial amount of my childhood learning to read and write this stuff and I can barely read *this*.

@camzilla51 Reduces the parts count a bit. If you're recreating it anyway, may as well!
English

@ChromeTyranno I swear it's like they're working harder and harder all the time to make it more difficult to disassemble these guys.
English

@SixoTF @AtarasiHida I mean, I wasn't joking. I took it in for the new battery and it included free installation of it. Then I watched, dumbstruck, as they removed the entire wheel to do it. I literally could not have replaced the thing myself. Just the battery.
English

@triphazard1000 @AtarasiHida No, it’s very true. I’ve just picked up a Subaru myself but I was sure to find one that had a timing belt replacement already for fear of further costs down the line. But yeah, running & maintenance costs is a whole other conversation!

NEW SOURCE COUNTDOWN! When you're done collecting Transformers toys, how about a real car? Sounds expensive but you may be surprised at the prices of these 8 examples -->

English

@AtarasiHida @SixoTF My old car required the full removal of a wheel to replace a failing battery. May as well have had a "no user serviceable parts inside" sticker.
English

@SixoTF The real cost is complicated maintenance and rare parts.
I remember how a Saturn needed to have the engine removed to replace the timing belt, a consumable part. I worked with a guy who sold his car when replacing his headlamp was $350, a decade ago.
English

@SixoTF That second pic gives off big soap bottle/toothbrush holder energy.
