Can anyone recommend a dead simple, easy to use notetaking app based on markdown files? Obsidian is far too complicated for me. I'm looking for Apple Notes, but with markdown storage

Absolutely true, and one of the reasons I’m Pro-AI when it comes to amplifying people, and Anti-AI automation of big, gestalt tasks like driving. AI is the new corporate “sorry/not sorry”, “the devil made me do it” , scapegoat. Only people are truly accountable.

@andrewchen What Uber Eats delivers is Dopamine. Meal delivery caters to people who are in a state of diminished executive function, they are already opting for comfort/convenience over price. The same people are unlikely to opt for healthy over high fat/sugar. Classic behavioral economics

this is why they'd never do it. Definitely a dated chart, but I bet things haven't moved around all that much >70% of delivery in 2018 was pizza + fried chicken + burgers

I would pay an extra $10/month to turn on “Healthy Mode” on Uber Eats where it would filter out all the unhealthy items and restaurants I know they’d never do that but I’m sure I’m not the only one that’d aspire to this 😂

(frmr teacher and 2E child spent 3yrs in self contained) Arguably that place is called “school” especially for kids who have learning differences, movement needs, and authority figures who jump to rules before seeking to understand why. Its not the spaces that need to be safe, its the adults, and there aren’t that many in most schools.

@LeeAnnePower If the other place is not safe, shouldn’t that place be investigated and dismantled immediately?

Teachers letting kids come into your classroom when they aren’t supposed to be there: Just stop it! They aren’t your friends, you’re an adult, and we’re all looking for them and trying to get them to learn while you enable them and feed them junk food.

I'm starting to think the UX field is overdue for a good primer on how to really *do* interaction design. Current education is way too focused on polished deliverables. Not enough on-your-feet skills and thinking techniques.

Best show on the web right now. This Ep was esp good. @Trevornoah & Co treat the topic of alienated young men with the curiosity and compassion it deserves. @JoshJohnson was especially insightful, giving the subject the full Old Soul treatment that is becoming his signature.

Word to the wise, do not, under any circumstances, "buy" an HP printer. You don't own it if they require invasive surveillance of your usage and dictate how you can use it. This is what happens to companies that stop innovating.

When did @HP decide that ransomware is a legit business model? They've bricked my printer after canceling the optional subscription for toner I was overpaying for. Even their "official" cartridge doesn't work until HP "unlocks" the machine. I hope the @FTC is paying attention.
