And excited to announce that I have taken a position as an ORISE fellow in the Wind Energy Technologies Office at @ENERGY in the offshore wind portfolio to continue to learn, and seek to contribute to just, sustainable deployment and to promote ocean co-use.

What a year! I completed my #Knauss Fellowship at the end of January and am so grateful for all the opportunities to learn about offshore wind and marine energy domestically and abroad.

today was the day! really emotional, incredible moment to be completing my masters thesis as a Knauss fellow. Two major goals that i had for myself 🙂

my first council coordination committee (CCC) meeting was a success! meeting fishery managers from each region of the US and learning how each council tackles fishery issues was so cool. thank you @MidAtlanticFish for hosting us all in beautiful Annapolis

@TrevorABranch i think this would be great for first year graduate students. especially those who are not quantitative focused so they could understand the work of their colleagues and/or consider these methods as they craft their proposals

Idea: undergrad survey quant course for ecologists, very basic intro to one advanced topic per week: e.g. mixed effects models, multivariate stats, Bayesian methods, R intro, GAMs, machine learning, fitting models, data wrangling, GIS, linear models. To demystify topics.

just gave my first presentation of my #knauss fellowship to folks in my office at DOE. was able to use my “fisheries expertise” (their words!!!) to bring everyone up to speed on an interagency strategy. feeling proud 🙂

as it was my first time in california i stayed an extra day to explore 🙂 naturally i ended up in a fishing port and found a fishermen (and the dock cat) to learn about west coast fisheries

last week i attended the pacific offshore wind summit in california and learned A TON about floating wind and the energy landscape of the west coast
