@sarahradz_ @TLTorelle @DatLe Something I found helpful was to treat other mums (in my head) like colleagues, rather than people I thought were going to be life long friends. It took the pressure off the conversations and allowed me to relax a bit about chatting to people at playgroups.

I'm a stay-at-home mom by necessity, which means I meet and talk to a lot of new people all the time. Occasionally I get offered a job and I always ask "is there childcare?" And people just look at me totally bewildered.

@TLTorelle @sarahradz_ @DatLe School pickup and drop off, volunteer at school, birthday parties, events, public library offerings, kids sports, make the first move if you recognize someone in public even if you don’t know their name.

@DatLe @sarahradz_ Dude I’m a SAHM and I talk to dozens of people a week. It doesn’t mean locked in the house. lol If you have kids in school there are drop offs, pick ups, volunteering, sports, birthday parties, events.
