@Alyssa_Milano There can be no healing without revealing. We need to investigate what happened over these last four years, & hold people accountable for their crimes. Otherwise, we will be vulnerable when a more competent autocrat wins. This isn’t vengeance; it’s protecting democracy.

@xcor057 @AOC @BigFish3000 Yes, it is. Why are Republicans refusing a stand-alone vote on TSA? It would pass in a heartbeat, but they’re refusing because apparently ICE needs even more money despite having the largest budget of any enforcement agency in history.

@AOC @BigFish3000 Not paying TSA for 2 months and then saying you're trying to get TSA paid only if ICE doesn't is not the virtuous flex you think.

AOC and Bernie Sanders will not pay TSA agents but fly first class on tax payers dollars. Agents make around 45,000 a year.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
Earlier this week, I broke fast at Rikers Island with New Yorkers in custody, Department of Correction staff, Commissioner Stanley Richards, and Councilmember Yusef Salaam. It was a night that will stay with me for quite some time. People sharing what little they have: breaking bread, offering prayer, making space for one another’s dignity even in the hardest place. In a system too often defined by what it takes, I was reminded of what it means to give—mercy, dignity, and humanity. May we extend that mercy as far as we can. Eid Mubarak to all.

CBS not airing James Talarico’s interview with Stephen Colbert because they were supposedly worried about FCC backlash is a really big deal. Stephen Colbert was told not to say anything and did so anyways. This man is not getting enough credit for standing up for free speech.

That’s a strong narrative, but it skips key steps. A temporary closure for renovation isn’t the same as “destroyed,” and comparing a public cultural institution to casinos is rhetoric, not evidence. If the claim is that toxicity drove performers away and revenues collapsed, then show attendance data, booking records, cancellations, and financials. Otherwise this is opinion presented as fact.

The Kennedy Center has been in continuous operation for 55 years. Trump and Ric Grenell destroyed it in one year by making it so toxic that nobody will perform there. Now they have to shut it down like a Trump casino.

@SarahLongwell25 No. A real man would encourage any women he knows not to be in that situation in the first place. Not only a woman but any person. If you don’t want any possibility of injury or death, obey law enforcement. Also, don’t disobey while armed. Common sense should tell you that.

I would offer that Alex Pretti putting his body—with his hands up—between a woman and the BP agent who had just violently shoved her into the snow, offer stark competing visions of manhood. Pretti, a nurse caring for veterans, who took a face full of pepper spray to shield that woman, is a much better masculine ideal that the masked coward shoving the woman and executing a man on his knees. MAGA may venerate the latter, but most people in a healthy society want the former.

I don't understand why sports participation is a hill that trans activists want to die on. It's not a debate that they're going to win, and it discredits their entire movement. It would be wiser to concede this issue and focus on fairer accommodations and actual rights.

Stop vaccinating your children. It's k*lling them. Fly high baby Bentley. 🕯 💔 6-month-old Bently was killed by 13 vaccines administered without his mother Alisa’s informed consent at Cook Children’s Clinic in Fort Worth, TX. The young mother, per normal, was pressured by the pediatrician. She was unaware her son would receive a lethal overdose of vaccines, including two triple doses of DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), Hepatitis B, polio, three oral rotavirus doses, and a pneumococcal pneumonia vaccine. The clinic failed to disclose the dangerous number of shots Bently was given. Alisa said: “I trusted them to take care of my baby, and they took him from me. I was hesitant about vaccines, but the doctor kept pushing, saying it was routine and safe. I didn’t know they were giving him 13 shots at once. Bently was happy and healthy that morning, smiling like always. After the appointment, he wasn’t himself - he was so fussy, wouldn’t eat, and felt hot. I called the clinic, but they told me it was normal and to give him Tylenol. That night, I checked on him, and he wasn’t breathing. I tried to wake him, screaming his name, but he was gone. My world ended. I rushed him to the hospital, but they couldn’t save him. Later, I found out through his records they gave him all those vaccines. I never would’ve agreed to that. They killed my baby, and I’ll never forgive myself for trusting them.” Bently’s death was caused by cardiac arrest from the vaccine overload, with studies linking such incidents to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), the third leading cause of infant death in the US, peaking at 2-4 months during heavy vaccination schedules. This preventable tragedy underscores the need for informed consent and accountability. 😭💔

@RockChartrand By that logic, there is no right to a fair trial, policing, or national defense either, since all require others' time and skill funded by taxation. The real question is not coercion vs none, but which shared obligations best reduce needless suffering.

Calling health care a “right” is not an elevation of morality. It’s a demand that someone else be forced to provide it. There’s no such thing as a “right” to goods or services that require human effort, time, skill, or property. Rights protect actions, not outcomes. They protect your freedom to pursue values, not to confiscate them from others. If health care is a right, then doctors don’t own their labor. Taxpayers don’t own their income. Hospitals don’t own their facilities. And individuals don’t own the products, tools, or discoveries they create. “Right” becomes a euphemism for compulsory service. A right that demands another person work for you is not a right, it's legalized servitude.
Senator John Hickenlooper@SenatorHick

Health care should be a right, not a privilege. That shouldn’t be a hot take in the wealthiest country in the history of the world.

Some women don’t mind having intimate medical procedures carried out by male clinicians - or by men who identify as women. Some don’t mind sharing toilets, changing rooms or other single-sex spaces with men. Some don’t mind men competing in women’s sports or taking women’s awards in business, sport or the arts. Some don’t mind being described as “chest feeders,” “birthing people,” or “ovary havers.” Some don’t mind men’s feelings being prioritised above their own comfort, dignity or safety. If any of this applies to you, that’s your choice. But your comfort does not override other women’s discomfort. Nor does it erase women’s legal rights to single-sex spaces, services, sports or sex-based language. And if you’re a man who thinks you have the right to tell women what they should think or feel about any of this … that’s your choice too. But remember: women’s rights and their boundaries are not yours to override.

@sputthga @SkyTheViking She was though. Because what’s the alternative? You’re supposed to… call the ambulance? A coroner? Burying it in the backyard has gotten women in trouble too. Are you meant to pay for a cremation for someone who was never born?

I live in Texas. I've lost a child. The miscarriage lies they tell you are bull. In February of 2023 I found out that my baby didn't have a heartbeat. When my hysterical sobs subsided in the sonogram room, my OBGYN kindly (and with much grace) gave me my options: I could let nature take its course, I could jump-start the process with medication, or I could opt for a D&C. At no point was I blamed or questioned. It wasn't my fault. I was a grieving mother...I am still a grieving mother...who lost her child. The medical system and the people within it, did what they could for me throughout the entire process. My story is not an outlier. It's the norm. We do not live in a dystopian novel. Shit happens. Awful shit happens. But don't you DARE scare women who are out there just trying to build a family for your own political gain. Monsters. Every one of you who push this narrative that women will be imprisoned for a miscarriage.

@sputthga @SkyTheViking Ok, but every other bloody thing that comes from my vagina goes into the trash, so there is a logic here. Two of my miscarriages ended up in the toilet/trash because that made sense. I don’t think I should be arrested for it.

@TLTorelle @SkyTheViking This woman was arrested for throwing the remains in a dumpster, not for having a miscarriage. Yes, it was stupid to arrest her, but NBC is twisting the story to support a narrative that doesn't exist.
