@esjesjesj It looked like a show that had obviously different writers and input whether intentional or not. I imagined a writers room with those who love the franchise & are geeky about it mixed with those who do teen drama. The alchemy did not work

What’s crazy is this show captured the spirit of Star Trek more than any other of the new series. It was the first one to be legitimately hopeful for the future.

It appears the current Head of Investigations at the CCRC publicly praised Paul Hughes and the Lucy Letby Operation Hummingbird when they won an award. If this is verified, Shaun Edwards needs to resign immediately. @VeraBaird

@gill1109 @LCasley31782 @VeraBaird Honestly I don't think that's enough. He's a central figure at the organisation. An ex-copper in that position making chummy approving comments of their old mates shatters confidence in the CCRC's independence.

@LucyLetbyTrials The worst thing about the CCRC has been delays so the primary concern would be if the way he has carried out his role has slowed down the CCRC review or worse with a clear conflict of interest. Is the timeline based on when certain people retire?

Astonishing that former police officer Shaun Edwards, seen here showering praise on Cheshire police's Lucy Letby investigation — in particular, its lead detective Paul Hughes – got a job as Head of Investigations at the CCRC last July. Letby's defence team had submitted her application to the CCRC five months earlier.

Beyond the blatant conflict of interest in this specific case, it boggles the mind that a recently retired senior detective would be appointed to head investigations at the – supposedly – independent body tasked with reviewing potential miscarriages of justice. And that's to say nothing about the CCRC's current chair, @VeraBaird, lately campaigning to strip defendants of a fundamental due process right. What on earth is going on at the supposedly "reformed" CCRC??

Israel just wiped out an entire village in Lebanon, violating Security Council resolution SCR1701, ceasefire agreement, and international law with absolutely no consequences. This is another war crime and International Criminal Court remains silent.
