Permanently. This isn't partisan. It's the law passed in 1973 specifically to prevent this moment after painful experiences in Korea and Vietnam.

After reading the courts decision on the VRA I've realized that what they did doesn't only disenfranchise voters of color it's essentially Jim Crow for any Democrat in a red state.
