@MikamakV @tropicalk @elikowaz 360,000 Arabs born in Jerusalem don't have the right to Israeli citizenship. You don't have a group of 360,000 people born in Yerevan who don't have the right to Armenian citizenship. Israel is an apartheid state. Armenia isn't. Mystery solved Karen

@MikamakV @tropicalk @elikowaz Palestinians are subjected to systemic segregation and discrimination across 🇮🇱 and the Occupied 🇵🇸 Territories . This is characterized as a "system of apartheid" designed to maintain Jewish 🇮🇱 domination through land seizure, fragmented residency, unequal

@MikamakV @elikowaz Did you read the authors post? He said that only ethnic Armenians can be citizens of 🇦🇲; that is a lie.

One of the most inconvenient facts in the anti-Zionist narrative is that Israel's 2 million Arab citizens are ethnically indistinct from Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

@WorkersRepublic @gen2023157616 @strxwmxn No they don't. There are instances where the military backs up a settler, but the majority of the time the military brings calm to the situation. You are correct that Israel should do better here

@WorkersRepublic @gen2023157616 @strxwmxn Every country has murders. If you have a problem with Israel's low rate, than you should have a bigger problem with the higher Palestinian rate, or most other countries. But no, you solely voice a problem with the Jewish state.

@WorkersRepublic @gen2023157616 @strxwmxn For the decade preceding Oct7, the deaths caused by settlers was less than 10 a year, closer to 5, with a Jewish population in the West Bank of over 500,000. This is a very good rate that Israel should be proud of. The deaths via the IDF are against Pali malitias.

@tropicalk @gen2023157616 @strxwmxn First you call it "slop", then admit that it happens, but try down play it. Most violence in US cities is between gangs, which are also combated by the state. In Israel the violence is carried out against an unarmed population by the military and militias with full state backing

@tropicalk @gen2023157616 @strxwmxn It does control those areas though, along with the airspace and borders. Palestinians have plenty of interactions with Israelis in the West Bank, mostly in the form of troops or ghoulish settlers brutalising or murdering them.

In the late parts of my childhood and early teens, I had a continuous and irrational fear that I would not live for very long and certainly did not expect to make it into adulthood. While this began in Gaza, it very much extended into life outside of the coastal enclave, and even while I was in the United States. But then I turned 15, then 18, then 20, then 25, then 30 – and now, at 36, this makes me ever so grateful for the gift of life that I have been entrusted with by God and this universe. No matter how challenging, demanding, dangerous, stressful, and testing life is, it is beautiful and worth fighting for to make it a meaningful, fulfilling, and a worthwhile journey of learning and experiential growth. This is exactly the reason why I am so ferociously against those who seek to threaten life with violence, religious fanaticism, martyrdom, death cults, hollow nationalism, sloganeering, and useless rhetoric about resistance on behalf of nefarious and failed projects. Everybody deserves life, and I so desperately want that for the Palestinian people of Gaza who have been unfairly robbed of their true potential. My Jewish friends tell me that 36 is the number that symbolizes ‘double life’ – ‘double chai’- something I hope is a good omen for what lies ahead. Thank you for all the birthday wishes, and I hope that everybody can find a way to live life with its stresses and pressures – and in my case, an increasing amount of grey hairs!

@strxwmxn @MaxNordau When those images support the well documented fact that Israel has murdered thousands of children, it’s very easy to understand. You just choose not to.

@gen2023157616 @strxwmxn The West Bank and Gaza have been annexed by Israel since 1967. Therefore its on Israel to respect the rights of the population. Nothing to do with what I want.

My only two comments about this debacle are that: 1. The fact that the world goes apoplectic over minor Israeli misconduct while routinely ignoring far worse atrocities elsewhere shows a double standard steeped in bigotry. 2. The fact that the world goes apoplectic over minor Israeli misconduct alone should make such misconduct completely unacceptable.

A short while ago, in full coordination with the local community of Debel in southern Lebanon, the damaged statue was replaced by IDF troops. The Northern Command worked to coordinate the replacement of the statue from the moment it received the report of the incident. The IDF expresses deep regret over the incident, and is working to ensure that it does not happen again in the future.

@Expose2L @havivrettiggur Every single country that lost a war has military conditions. "Sovereignty" is gobbly gook nonsense. You attack another country and lose -> you lose the right to attack again.

@havivrettiggur 🇮🇱 is a nuclear state. Nobody is suggesting 🇮🇱 be “defenseless.” 🛑 the gaslighting. We simply believe that demands to limit Palestine’s military are unacceptable. No sovereign state would accept this as a precondition.

The progressive plan for Palestinian independence is to condition it on the Jews becoming a defenseless minority in the modern Middle East? This is considered the "pro-Palestinian" position?
Adam Johnson@adamjohnsonCHI

This is the rub with all “2 state solution” bromides from high status liberals: you ask them to define a “Palestinian state” and even their most blue sky vision is a completely humiliated bantustan occupied by foreign troops. No such comparable demands ofc are ever made of Israel

Why is it assumed that a Palestinian state is some sort of moral duty, that everyone must agree to accomplish? What makes them better than the Kurds, or Catalans, or Hmong - all of whom are considerably less dysfunctional and genocidal?
